Teaching steps:
A. Review the week.
T: Hello, Good morning! Happy new school term! What day is today
P: It’s Wednesday.
T: Can you say out from “Sunday” to “Saturday”
Pupils say the week, then show word cards let pupils spell the week together.
B. Lead to the new lesson
Show pupils the calendar.
T: This is a calendar. Learn the word “calendar”. Pupils read the word after teacher. T: What’s that P: It’s a calendar. Then lead to the word “month”. Tell pupils it’s a month. It’s January. Teach “January”. Then show pupils the sentences on the blackboard:
How many days in a month There’re …days in a month.
Let the pupils count.
C. Show computer, pupils read after it. Try to read part A.

Teaching steps:
A. 1. Greeting
2. Review the words and sentences learnt in last class .Try to make dialogues, using the sentences.

B. Teach the new words .
1、T: How many months in a year
Then use a calendar to teach the months from “January” to “December”. Try to say and spell the words. Some words are long .Pay attention to the pronunciations of them.

Teaching steps:
A. Free talk with children.
B. Teach B1 .
First, ask pupils when are their birthdays. Then make dialogues.
A: When’s your birthday B: It’s in….
A: I can buy you a present. B: Good idea.
Then try to say the dialogues about the next pictures.
eg. Picture 2 When’s aunt Jane’s birthday
It’s in July.
I can buy Aunt Jane a present.
Good idea.
C. Teach PB B2 .
First, review the cardinal numbers. Then use a calendar to learn the ordinal numbers. First second third fourth …
Note: that from the beginning of fourth, the words are ended with “th”. But pay attention to the following words:
Fifth eighth ninth twelfth twentieth thirtieth thirty-first.
Ask pupils to remember these.
D. Teach B3
Ask the pupils listen to the tape. Tell them to circle the correct dates this time. Check the answers with the pupils. Ask the pupils to work in pairs and ask each other Is your birthday on… Unit they guess the date of their friend’s birthday.
Read after the recorder.

B. Learn the PB C A story .
Listen and master the expressions.

Review the present continue tense.

Ask pupils to make sentences of present continuous.
Pupils read the sentences after the cassette, read together. Ask the pupils to role-play the story in groups of four and to read the characters’ speech bubbles. Some groups may come to the front and act the story.

A. Free talk with children, then pupils ask and answer one by one: What’s the date today

Ask pupils to write down their own birthday months. Then go around to collect the names of their classmates who has the same birthday months. Then tell it to the classmates.
Ask pupils who have the same birthday month to make a birthday train. Tell the pupils to line up in order of their birthdays and to present their train by saying who is the first, the second, the third and so on.
