CONCEPT/
TOPIC TO TEACH: A rainy weekend
1. OBJECTIVES: The pupils can ask about the weather each other and answer it.
What’s the weather like It’s raining.
2. The pupils can ask what can we ( you, he, they,…) do
They can answer: we can listen to the music or so on.
REQUIRED
1、 MATERIALS: Some pictures
2、 A computer.
3、 Video of Shenzhen’s weather.
ADVANCED ORGANIZER: In Shenzhen the weather is quite changeable, First let the pupils listen to the report of Shenzhen. Next the teacher will ask: “What’s the weather like in Shenzhen these days ” The pupils will answer:” It is sunny( rainy, cloudy, windy) and so on. Then the teacher will ask what can you do in a rainy day The pupils will answer:” we can listen to the music …” The teacher uses the pictures to practice the drills and the new words. Let the pupils to watch the flash. According to the flash and ask some questions.

The Third Period
CONCEPT/

2.Flash 2 ( test ).
3.The report of the last Saturday.

ADVANCED ORGANIZER: Talk about the daily actions of the last week.
STEP-BY-STEP PROCEDURES: Steps:
1:Sing the song ( Flash 1).
2:Watch Flash 2 , revise the past tense.
3:let the students look at their report , and talk about their actions of last Saturday in each group.
4 The teacher says, let’s see what Koko did last Saturday. The teacher draw four pictures on the blackboard , that is ,dance in the living room, water the plants, paint a picture and jump on the bed. Let the students finish the blanks.

STEP-BY-STEP PROCEDURES: Steps:
1:Sing the song (Flash 1:It’s a rainy day ).
2:Ask the students: Do you like rainy weather Why
Let the students discuss , then tell the teacher their answer.
After listening , watch Flash 2 (If only it doesn’t rain )
3:The teacher says, though rain sometimes is bad for us, it is very helpful ,too. Why does it rain Let’s have a look. Draw four pictures about the formation of rain. While drawing, the teacher explains.
4、Listen to the tape and repeat after it. Let the students divide into groups to discuss the formation of the rain.
6. Watch Flash 3 (my weather book ),and let the students talk about their favourite weather and the reason.

2. Tell the students to read the passage again and then circle the correct answers.
3. Ask the Ss Did Phileas go around the world in 80 days The students can find the original 1873 translation of the story at www.jv.gilead.org.il/pg/80day/

Feedback: The pupils know little about the other countries, so it’s very important to introduce some countries, such as the UK, the US, France, Canada, Australia and Japan.
