THINK ABOUT IT!What places do you pass on your way to school?
Look at the pictures.What places do Jenny and Brian pass on their way to school?TEXTJenny and Brian are on their way to (在去…的路上）school.They are walking,because it’s sunny.
“This is fun,”says Brian.“Usully we take the school bus.”
“I want to show you the neighbourhood（居民区） this morning,”says Jenny.“The bus goes too fast.When you walk,you can see things better.”
They come to a corner（拐角）.“Do we go this way now?”asks Brian.He is pointing to the right.
“No,turn left,”says Jenny.“Then cross（横穿） the street.”They look left,then right,and cross the street.“I like going this way,”says Jenny.“We will go past some of my favourite shops.”
Soon,they walk past（经过） a big store window.Brian stops.He sees bread,cakes and donuts.“It’s the bakery（面包店）!”he says.“I’m hungry.Let’s go in and buy something.”
“We can’t stop now,Brian.Come on!We don’t want to be late for school,”says Jenny.“We’ll come here this afternoon.”
Soon,they pass（经过） another window.It’t the bookstore（书店）.This timeJenny stops.“This is my favourite store.It has so many good things to read.”Jenny stands and looks at all of the books in the window.LET’S DO IT!How do you get to school?What places do you see on the way?Do you stop anywhere?You can use the following expressions:

BABABOn one’s/the way to的用法意思是“在去某地的路上”。eg.
I met my old friend on my way to school.
注：
1、后接表示地点的词。若是地点副词（here,there,
home等)则to要省略。eg:
On my way home,I bought a watch.
They had to stop because there was a broken car_____.

2、one’s的形式由句中的主语决定。eg:
Li Ming bought a pen on his way to school.Bturn left向左转，turn right 向右转。eg:
Turn right at the second crossing.
“在拐角处”的表达1.At/on the corner.在拐角处(在外面）
2.in the corner.在拐角处（在里面）eg:
There is a book on the corner.
There is a girl in the corner of our classroom.cross的用法cross v. 横穿，它的介词为across,指穿过表面。eg:
The little girl is crossing the street.“乘交通工具”的表达“take a +交通工具”与“by+交通工具”意思均为：“乘某种交通工具”。 eg:
take a bus=by bus 乘公共汽车
take a train=by train 乘火车
take a plane=by plane 乘飞机
take the school bus 乘校车“take a +交通工具”与“by+交通工具”的用法虽然二者意思相同，但用法上有区别。前者是动词短语可以作谓语，后者是介词短语只能作状语。eg:
I take a bus to the post office.
I go to the post office by bus.
判断正误：
I by bus go to the post office.
[误]pass,past和by的区别三者均有“经过”之意，pass是动词可作谓语，后直接接经过的地点。Past与by二者都是介词，不能作谓语。只能与walk,go等词构成短语来作谓语。eg ：
Li Ming pass the Yuankou Middle School.
Li Ming past/by the Yuankou Middle School.
