本部分阅读材料是对不同国家的文化习俗进行比较.通过学习,除了使学生熟悉课文外,还应激发学生探究相关知识的兴趣,扩大学生的知识面,同时引导学生形成对待不同的文化差异的正确态度。本节课的主要内容有三个部分组成 “引入部分”(Lead-in)、 “阅读”(Reading) 和 “读后”(Post-reading).本课拟用“welcome”部分引入话题,激发学生学习的兴趣,从而引导学生进入“reading”部分的学习.通过“reading”和“post-reading”, 检查学生的理解程度, 诱导学生联系实际, 拓展思维.

根据《高中英语教学大纲》的要求,在课堂教学中,必须以学生为主体,为中心进行教学,教师在教学中起主导作用。因此我采用任务型教学方式,每一部分都设有一定的任务,引导学生自主或者合作完成。
教学过程由展示不同文化习俗的图片开始,激发学生的学习兴趣。
然后通过三个小问题的讨论,由学生回答后引入本课阅读文章,进行所设计的快速阅读和仔细阅读活动,对文章进行相应要求的理解。阅读活动由整体入手,由易到难,步步推进,层层深入。
在课堂学习中,通过各项活动的设置,培养学生的阅读速度和阅读技巧﹑查找﹑分析﹑处理信息的能力以及写作能力。鼓励学生积极参与小组的各项活动,展现自己和小组的能力,并培养团队协作能力。在整个教学活动中,力求充分调动其各个感官进行听、说、读、写,积极主动的学习。
在进入阅读材料时, 以听导入。设计表层理解的问题。然后要求学生用简单的语言口头回答表层意义理解题。问题的设计从表层引入深层, 主要检测学生对文章细节的理解和掌握, 然后让学生归类, 在对课文理解的基础上进行实际运用, 使学生在听说读写的能力上得到有效训练. 最后通过讨论部分让学生自我发挥,综合运用,同时通过“What’s the right attitude towards different cultures”,引导学生正确对待不同的文化习俗,达到本课的情意教学目标。
