教学过程由展示不同文化习俗的图片开始，激发学生的学习兴趣。
然后通过三个小问题的讨论，由学生回答后引入本课阅读文章，进行所设计的快速阅读和仔细阅读活动，对文章进行相应要求的理解。阅读活动由整体入手，由易到难，步步推进，层层深入。
在课堂学习中，通过各项活动的设置，培养学生的阅读速度和阅读技巧﹑查找﹑分析﹑处理信息的能力以及写作能力。鼓励学生积极参与小组的各项活动，展现自己和小组的能力，并培养团队协作能力。在整个教学活动中，力求充分调动其各个感官进行听、说、读、写，积极主动的学习。
在进入阅读材料时， 以听导入。设计表层理解的问题。然后要求学生用简单的语言口头回答表层意义理解题。问题的设计从表层引入深层, 主要检测学生对文章细节的理解和掌握, 然后让学生归类, 在对课文理解的基础上进行实际运用, 使学生在听说读写的能力上得到有效训练. 最后通过讨论部分让学生自我发挥，综合运用，同时通过“What’s the right attitude towards different cultures”,引导学生正确对待不同的文化习俗，达到本课的情意教学目标。
