Teaching procedure:
Activity 1: (3m)
1、Watch a video
2、What tense is used in each sentence
Peter, what are you doing there
I am preparing for the trip.
Oh, dear, you are always dreaming.
Are you talking to me, mom
No, I am not talking to anybody.
设计说明:用观看含有现在进行时的video的方式引出现在进行时,有易于激发学生的兴趣。
Activity 2: (4m)
Questions:
1、What is the structure of present continuous tense (1m)
2、Do you know the general usage of the present continuous tense (2m)
a. 表示现在(指说话人说话时)正在发生动作或存在状态。
I am reading while my mother is cooking.
b. 表示现阶段暂时的情况,说话时动作未必正在进行。
What are you doing recently
c. 与always, constantly, forever 等词连用,表示反复发生的动作或持续存在的状态,往往带有说话人的主观色彩(赞成、讨厌、生气等情绪)。
You are always changing your mind.
设计说明:同学们在初中的时候已经学习过现在进行时,所以采用了问题的方式,问学生们现在进行时的结构和几种基本用法,然后再给出比较系统的答案。
Activity 3 (2m)
1、Enjoy the video again.
2、Look at the following sentences from the video, What tense is used in each sentence Do you think it describes what is happening at present
I am going to the moon, don’t you know
When are you leaving
I am leaving for the moon late this morning.
Where are you leaving
I am going to the moon. The spaceship is arriving soon.
设计说明:再次观看录像,抽出里面用现在进行时表示将来要发生的动作与状态的句子,再问学生们这些句子包含的语法和这个语法的用法。
Activity 4(4m)
1、Explain that The Present Continuous Tense can be used to express Future Actions:
现在进行时代替将来时,表示一个最近按计划或安排打算要进行的动作,这类动词通常是瞬间动作,只限于少数动词,常见的有:go, come, leave, sleep, stay, play, do, have, take, get to, see off, etc.
---When are you going off for your holiday 你什么时候动身去度假
--- I‘m leaving tomorrow.
明天我要走了。
2、表示将来的现在进行时除用于转移动词外,也可用于某些非转移动词. 例如:
1. I’m meeting you after class.
课后我找你。
2. What are you doing next Sunday
下星期你打算干什么?

设计说明:让同学们听含有The Present Continuous Tense is used to express Future Actions的句子的歌,并试图完成歌词。在设计语法课的练习时,应尽量注意形式的多样性。让同学们听歌的形式还是比较新颖的,也比较有趣味性,可以激起学生学习的兴趣。而且这首歌的歌词比较清楚,难度比较低,内容很符合教学。
Activity 7: pair work (3m)
What about your plans for the future. Use the present continuous tense to express your future actions. Give as much information as you can.
Ex:( this evening) I’m going out this evening./ I’m not doing anything this evening./I don’t know what I’m doing this evening.

Support that your family is going to traveling next weekend. Write a small passage about your trip and your writing should include following information:

Where are you going
How are you going to…
How long are you staying in…
When are you arriving in/at…
When are you coming back
What are you going to do during the traveling
设计说明:从填空的形式,再到句子的形式,最后到文章的形式。对the Present Continuous Tense is used to express future action的用法的训练在一步一步地深入。而这个写作的题材和本单元的主题紧紧相扣。
