2 Introduce the context by saying This is a little girl. Here is her mother. She is making a fruit salad.
3 Point to the girl, mother and fruit salad as you say these things.
4 Read the speech bubbles in pictures 1 and 2 to introduce the language for asking for things and responding.
5 Give a picture of an item of fruit to a pupil.
6 Then ask the pupil for it. For example, give a pupil a picture of an orange and say An orange, please.
7 Prompt them to give you the picture and say Here’s an orange or Here you are. If the pupils do this well, you can reverse it and show them a picture and say Here’s an orange or Here you are.
8 Point to the rest of the speech bubbles as you read them. You may want to make cutting actions to make the meaning of fruit salad clearer.
