C Storytime(p.49)
1 Point to the characters in the pictures and read their speech bubbles aloud. Ask the pupils to point to the speech bubbles as I read them.
2 Play the Pupil’s Book Cassette for the pupils and ask them to say the sentences after the cassette.
3 Ensure the pupils know that the old mouse cannot see.
4 Ask three pupils to come up and play the roles of the two mice and the cat.
5 Ask the pupils to role-play the story in groups of three and read the characters’ speech bubbles. Some groups may like to come out to the front and act the story. Make the hole in a tree with chairs.
6 Use Storycards to revise sequence and language of the story.
D Read and number.
Ask the pupils to read the story again. Read the sentences under the pictures with the pupils.
Demonstrate how to write the correct numbers in the boxes next to the pictures.

Teaching aims:
1. Learn to elamt with a few same sound words.
2. Learn to make a tree with some animals. Then talk about it in pairs.
3. Learn to chant again.
Key point:

Difficult point:
1. Read the words well.
2. Make a tree.
Teaching aids: projector, scissors, glue, colour pens, tape recorder, PPT (slides about “cute”, “music”, “tune”)
Procedure:
Step I: Warming-up
1. Greetings.
2. Say the numbers (1-10)
Step II: Revision
1. Show some flash cards to ask “What can you see?” Ss answer them individually.
2. Read Part A, B, C together.
Step III: Presentation
1. Show PPT slides to present “cute”, “music”, “tune” while repeating the words.
①Show a cute girls picture to present “cute”.
②Let the students listen to music to present “music”.
③Show a picture of “tune” to present “tune”.
2. Listen to the tape while saying the poem together.
3. “Do you like animals and trees? Let’s make a tree and animals. Ok?”
①Do a demo to show how to make a tree an stick some animals on it.
②Show P51 Part F by using a projector.
③Students learn to do it in pairs. Teacher should go to help them in the mean time.
Step IV: Practice and Consolidation
1. Showing out their products while doing a demo: (Teacher do it while writing these two sentences on the blackboard.)

Teaching aims: Recognize the following words, phrases and sentences by looking at the objects and pictures:
A swimming pool, a clown, a slide, grass, flowers, trees.

Key points:
Vocabulary: grass, flowers, trees, a slide, a clown, a swimming pool
Sentence pattern: I can see…
Difficult points:
Be able to use proper pronunciation and intonation to read the words. Pay more attention to grass, not a grass.
Be able to use this sentence pattern ”I can see…” when looking at something. Teaching aids: CAI, objects, cards
Procedure:
Step I: Warming-up
Greeting.
Say and act a chant
I’m a puppy in the sun. I can run, run, run.
I’m a frog on a log. I can hop, hop, hop.
I’m a bird in the sky. I can fly, fly, fly.
I’m a fish in the pool. I can swim, swim, swim.
Step II: Presentation
T: Can you swim, children? Where can you swim (play CAI) You can swim in a swimming pool and teach the students to read. Point to the swimming pool and ask: Is it big/ small/blue?
What’s near the swimming pool? It’s a slide. (gesture). Is it yellow? (play CAI)
Show the trees, and count one by one say: one tree, tow trees, threes, four trees. These are trees. Are they green/big/tall? (play CAI)
Show flowers and learn to say flowers. Are they small/ yellow/ beautiful? (play CAI)
Show grass and learn to say ‘grass’. (play CAI)
Show a picture or a toy of “a clown”.
There’s a clown here too. Where’s it?
Let the children guess. Is it in the swimming pool/ on the slide/ in the tree/ under the tree/ in the flowers/ on the grass?
Show a clown on the grass and teach the word. Is it tall/big/ugly?
(play CAI) Point to the screen and say: Wow, this is a fantasy world. How beautiful!
Point to the screen and say:
I can see a swimming pool/ trees/flowers/grass/a clown/ a slide.
Step III. Practice and consolidation
Practice to read the words.
(1) Ss read after the teacher.
(2) Ss read together.
Play the game: High or low voice.
Ss point and read group by group, then one by one.
2. Ss open the books, point to the big picture and say: I can see …
Say after the teacher.
Teacher points and Ss read together.
S points and says” I can see…”
3. More able students can talk about the picture with more sentences.
Step IV. Summing-up
Teacher points to the words/ cards on the blackboard and the students

Step I: Warming-up

II Review(the new words).
T shows pupils the flash cards one by one and asks pupils to read together.
Play a guessing game.
T describes vividly and pupils are expected to listen carefully and guess the words. T may ask some able pupils to do it first.
eg: T: It’s big . It’s green.
What is it?
In the same way to describes and guess the other new words.
III, Presentation.
i. T: I have something to show you, boys and girls. But now please close your eyes.(T points to his/her eyes and gestures the pupils to close their eyes.) T counts to three and asks pupils to open their eyes.(T shows pupils a real balloon).
T: What can you see?
T: I can see a balloon.(prompt the pupils to say after T)
Then shows pupils more balloons and proms the pupils to say after T :
I can see two/three balloons.
ii. T shows the pupils CAI.(flowers、 clown、 slide、 trees and swimming pool)
T: Now look at the screen .What can you see?
Ps: I can see….
IV Practice and consolidation.
i.T Plays the tape and asks pupils to listen and repeat.
ii. Pair work.
Pupils look at the picture of part B and ask and answer questions in pairs .

iii. Competition.(One correct answer, one point for his/her group)
