2.Ask and answer about the sentence patterns and WH—questions of unit 6 to unit 9.

1. Identify people with correct sentence. .
2. Intact with others with the possessive adjective.

Teaching content:
Grasp the words and useful expression of unit 6.
Grasp how to buy and sell things.
Read and try to play how to buy and sell things.
Look and play Part A in Unit 10

Use the prepositions correctly; remember all the word and expressions .

一. Warming-up

二. Revision:
Have the dictation of unit 6.
Recite part A B and C of this unit.
三. Revision the pattern
1. Revise the words and sentences in unit 6 (CAI)
1) Describe some pictures of food or drink at random like this:
There’s an ice cream.
There’s a/an ……
2) Suppose buying things in the pictures on the screen. A couple of pupils talk about buying thing like this:
P1: How much is it?
P2: It’s *** yuan.
P1: May I have ***?
P2: Yes, here you are. ***yuan, please.
3) Pair work: Each pair should cut out the pictures of the food and drink items on page 70. Then they should label themselves A and B. Tell them pupil A is shopping and pupils B is the shopkeeper. Pupil A looks at the shopping list on the left of page 53 and pupil B looks at the price list on the right of page 53.
4) Read the sample conversation with the pupils. Ask some pairs to act out their dialogues in the platform. (CAI)

五.Homework
Listen to the tape and think about part b
Go to the supermarket and write down the price of some food and drink.
Then talk with your friends, like this:

二. Presentation
Show a picture of a family.(CAI) Point to it saying:
T: This is my family. (Point to the man) Who’s this? Do you know?
Ss: He’s your father.
T: Yes, he’s my father. Can you spell ‘father’? (Point to the woman) Who’s that?
Ss: She’s your mother.
……(revise the other family numbers in the same way: uncle, aunt, cousin, sister, brother, grandma, grandpa)
Revise the occupation words by using flashcards. Get the pupils to say the words.
3. Show some people(CAI) and get the pupils to answer like this:
T: Who’s this?
Ss: He’s the boy’s father.
T: What’s he?
Ss: He’s a driver.
……
三. Practice and consolidation (Teach Part B)
Point to Ann and her parents on the left. Ask the pupils to tell the teacher what words are missing from Ann’s speech bubble. Ask the pupils to write the words in the blanks.
Point to the pictures on the bottom of the page and ask the pupils to look at Ann’s parent again. Ask them to circle the correct words for each sentence.
Then ask them to work in pairs and designate themselves pupil A and pupil B. Pupil A should tell their partner about Ann’s father and pupil B should tell their partner about Ann’s mother.
Ask the pupils to bring a photo of their family. Then ask them to talk about their family in the class.
S: This is my family. The man is tall. He’s my father. He’s a clerk.
The pretty woman is my mother. She is a doctor.

四.Summary by computer

五.Homework
1. Listen to the tape and repeat after the tape(Unit 10 and Unit 7).
2. Go over the words and sentences in Unit 7 learned by reading and reciting.

二. Presentation
Show the pupils pictures of people of various occupations on the computer. Then identify and describe them one by one. Using the patterns:

三. Practice and consolidation
1. Read the sentences in B.
2. Show transparency to compare ‘this’ with ‘that’, describing people or objects.

4. Pair work: talk about one’s own family picture in pairs.
5. Cut, listen and play D.

1. Tell the class today is Ann’s birthday. She’s happy. Question ‘If you go to Ann’s birthday party what can you see?’ Encourage pupils to say ‘I can see many presents/ ribbons /cards /candles/ a birthday cake / many friends/ some flowers.’
2. Then revise the vocabulary with the picture cards.
3. Take pupils to Anne’s birthday party. Teacher says ‘Welcome to Ann’s birthday party. What can you see?’ Pupils will respond ‘I can see a birthday cake.’
Then continue to question ‘Look at the candles. How old is she? And is she happy?’
4. Show other things ‘a card, a present with a ribbon, and ask pupils to say the names of them. Question ‘Look at the card. Do you like the card? Why?’ Prompt them to say ‘I like the card. Because it’s pretty.’
5. Get pupils to look at the candles and count the numbers of them. Recall the structures ‘How many _______s are there? There be…’
三. Practice and consolidation
1.Get pupils in pairs to describe Ann and Ann’s party. For example, Today’s Ann’s party. She’s eleven. She’s happy. She has a birthday. It’s pretty. Then ask some pupils to give reports.
2.Take pupils to Pat’s birthday party with Powerpoint. Get pupils to say ‘Pat has a card/ a present. It’s pretty.’
3.Group work.
Ask the pupils what kinds of items they can buy for a friend’s birthday and write some of the suggestions on the paper. If the pupils do not know the English word, translate it and write it on the board for them in English.
4.Then ask them to practice the structures: Today’s (name)’s party. She /He is…
She /He has… I can buy a (present) for my friend.
5. Do Part C: Listen, read and tick.
6. Do the work for Part D: Cut, listen and play.
