2)Enable the students to listen and speak the sentence ‘I’m a triangle. You’re a triangle.
We’re a square here. I’m a square. You’re a square. We’re a rectangle here. I’m a circle. You’re triangles. We’re a star here. Circle, triangle, Square, star, We’re shapes here.’
Grasp the new words ‘circle’ ‘square’ ‘triangle’ and ‘star’.
Step 1 Warm up
Play a game: look and find.
T: Let’s see some pictures and guess what it is.(展示幻灯片)
T: Now, let’s play a game. I’ll show you how to play this game.(老师示范如何玩“连连看”)
T:Now, it’s your turn.
T:You did a good job. Who can tell me how can you find the right answers? Why do you choose this one to match that one?
S: Because…
T: Yes. They look the same. They are many things around us, they have many shapes. They are rectangle, square, star…Today, we are going to learn about shapes.
Step 2 Presentation
T: We’ll play another game, it’s about shapes. Please look at this piece of paper. It’s a rectangle. (Play the CAI. Teach the new word ‘rectangle’)
Step 3 Practice
1、Guess “What shape is it?”
T: Listen to me carefully. I’ll say some sentences. You can guess “What shape is it?”( Play the CAI). 1.This shape has four sides. Two sides are short. The other two are long. Do you know what shape it is? 2. This shape has four sides, too. They’re the same. Do you know its name? 3. This shape has three sides. Sometimes you draw it like a tree in your art class. What shape is it? 4. This shape is just like a ball. Many boys like it very much. What shape is it? 5. You can see this shape in the sky at night. You can see it in our national flag. Do you know its name?
2、Imagine
T: Children, Use your little head and imagine. In our life many things are formed with shapes. For example a rectangle is a blackboard…….
3、Do and chant
I’m a triangle. I’m a square. I’m a circle. Circle, triangle,
You’re a triangle. You’re a square. You’re triangles. Square, star,
We’re a square here. We’re a rectangle here. We’re a star here. We’re shapes here.
T:I can make many shapes with this rubber band. Look at it carefully.(老师示范)Can you? Let’s see who will make most shapes.
Play the CAI. T: We can use our shapes to form other pictures. Please look at the screen. Now four pupils in one group. Use the shapes to spell out your favorite pictures.
Step 4 Consolidation
T: Today we know some shapes’ names. We can draw pictures with them. Now we go home and draw a picture with them. That’s all for today. Thank you boys and girls.
