I. Aim: Consolidation and
1. Practise using the words of the months, the days of the work, and the dates correctly.
2. Ask and answer about the main sentences learned in this unit.
II. Steps:
1 .Step One:Warm up : Play a game.
① The teacher tells one of the months, eg, May,when the teacher puts up his / her right hand, the students should tell the next month(June), if the teacher puts up his/her left hand, the students should tell the month before the given one. (April).
②Invite some students to the front to play with the class like the teacher.
2.Step Two:Revision
① The teacher writes the twelve months on twelve scrips and put them in a box, he/she puts the scrips with the four seasons in another.
② A student draws a scrip from each box and try to make a correct sentence: eg. June is in summer. Or June is not in winter. If the student can make a right sentence his/her group can get one point. Students compete in groups to see which group can win.
Step 3 The teacher says some sentences in Chinese and the students write them out in English.

Step 4 Presentation: Listen to the tape of “G”---Sing the song :

Step5 .(1)H. Think about it !
Ask the pupils how many birthdays Xiaoming has had (three). Ask them to divide his age by the number of his birthdays (three). Which date only happens once every four years? (February 29th).

6.Pick a pupil`s birthday. Ask the pupils to stand up. Then tell the rest of the class (Name`s) birthday is in (month). Invite the other pupils to guess when his/her birthday is.

Part F: Make a birthday train
Teaching aims: Consolidate what the pupils have learned in this unit.

Is your birthday in…/on…? Yes,it is./No,it isn’t.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1: Greetings and free talk.
Ask: Which month is it?/What’s the date today?/When’s your birthday? etc.
Step2 : Play “Bingo” game with the months.
Step3 : Tell the pupils to ask others in the class about their birthdays in order to get into groups with birthdays in the same month. They should follow the example in the pictures on Page6.
Step4 : Within their groups, the pupils find out the birthdays of their group members in order to get into order of dates.
Steps 5: Ask each pupils to cut out the train car on page 77.Tell them to stick or draw a picture of themselves and write the date of their birthday on the carriage.
Step6 : Tell the pupils to line up in order of their birthdays and to present their train by saying who is the first, the second, the third and so on.
