Grammer—Passive -ing Form
Teacing aims:
1. knowledge aims
a. to review the usage of –ing form.
b. to learn the use of passive –ing form.
c. to tell the difference among –ing form, infinitive and past participle.
2. ability aims
a. to improve students’ ability of using nonpredicate
b. to make students use passive –ing form correctly and freely
3. emotional aim
to inspire students’ interest in learning english

Teaching methods:

Teaching procedures:
StepⅠ greetings and revision
Greet students as usual.
Review the usage of –ing form.
StepⅡ passive –ing form
Look at the following sentences to see the form of passive –ing form and distinguish the different parts they are used in each sentence.
1. Being killed by a shark is a common thing.
2. The man wore dark glasses to avoid being recognized.
3. I heard of his having been chosen to be the coach of the team.
4. The large house being built is a new shopping mall.
5. I saw a boy being caught away by two young men.
6. Being taken good care of, the trees are growing better and better.
7. Having been sent to the wrong address, the letter did not reach her.
8. The whole classroom having been cleaned ,the students went home happily.
Then ask students to draw a conclusion about it.

1. James was afraid of (attack) by sharks.
