二.语法归纳
定义:用作主语的从句叫主语从句,它是名词性从句之一。引导主语从句的连接词有:
连词that, whether,if;
连接代词who, whose, whom, whoever, what和which;
连接副词when, where, how, why, whenever, wherever等;
有时it作形式主语,将主语从句后置。
(1) 连接词引导的主语从句
1. 连接词that
(本身无意义,只表从句的开始,位于句首时,that不可省略)
e.g. That they are badly in need of help is quite clear. 他们急需帮助,这是十分明显的。______________________________________________________
但是这类句子为使结构平衡,经常会放到句子的后部,而用代词it作形式主语。即:It’s obvious that they are badly in need of help.

用于It is important / natural / necessary / impossible that...句型中, 主语从句应使用虚拟语气, 谓语动词用\“should + 动词原形\”的形式, should有时有感彩。
2. 连接词whether/if
Whether they will sell the house is not yet decided.
It doesn’t matter whether/if an engineer is a man or a woman.
在下列情况下,whether 不能被 if 所取代:
1) whether引导主语从句放句首时, 如: Whether it is true remains a problem.
2) 引导表语从句用whether, 如:The question is whether you should accept it.
3) whether可以引导从句作介词的宾语, 如:
I’m not interested in whether they’ll go or not.
It depends on whether we have got enough money.
4) whether可以直接跟动词不定式连用, 如:
I didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry.
She hasn’t decided whether to go or not.
3. wh-类等连接词引导的主语从句
what, who, which, whose, when, where, why, how这类连接词在句中分别作主语、宾语、表语、状语和定语等。
