Teaching Objectives:

Teaching Procedure:
Step 1 Getting ready 1
1) Put the picture cards of Tony and Jenny on the board.
2) Write the number seventeen and thirteen to the right of the picture cards.
3) Write the number tissues and napkins to the right of the written numbers.
4) Ask two Ss to come to the board.
5) T: (speak to S1.) Tony has thirteen napkins.
6) S1 draws a line from the Tony card to the number thirteen and then to the word napkins.
7) T: (speak to S2.) Jenny has seventeen tissues.
8) S2 draws a line accordingly.
Step 2 Using the book1
1) Point to Gogo, Tony and Jenny and the written words.
2) T: listen. Connect the pictures and words.
3) Stop after each sentence and let Ss repeat.
Step 3 Getting ready 2
1) Draw a clock face on the board.
2) Have S1 come up.
3) Dictate a time and have s1draw.
Step 4 Using the book 2
1) T: Listen and draw in the time you hear.
2) Play the tape, pausing after each sentence to let Ss draw in the time.
3) When finished, let Ss exchange books with partners and check one another’s answers.
Step 5 Getting ready 3
1) Have Ss look at the pictures around the word search.
2) Go over the words orally.
Step 6 Using the book 3
1) Ss find and circle the words in the words search.
2) T: (Model an example.) fifteen. I see the word “fifteen”, find the other words and circle them.
3) Circulate around the classroom to help Ss.
