Period One
Teaching procedure:
Step 1 Warming-up
Show the picture of my room and talk about the picture. (point to a chair)
T: What’s this
S1: It’s a chair.
T: Where’s the chair
S2: It’s under the desk.
Step 2 The class talk about the picture freely.
Step 3 Presentation Show the picture of radio and teach the word “radio”. After individual reads, groups read and the whole class read, practise the dialogue.
T: What’s this
S3: It’s a radio. T: Where is the radio
S4: It’s on the bookcase. (Use the same way to teach the other thing in my room.)
Step 4 Play the slap game on the blackboard.
Step 5 Read after the tape and point to the correct word you’ve heard.
Step 6 Homework
1. Read the new words.
2. Prepare the lesson for next period.
Period Two
Teaching procedure:
Step 1 Revise the words.
Step 2 Presentation
T: Do you have a bag, (S1’s name)
S1: Yes, I do.
T: Does S1 have a bag
S2:(With help) Yes, he does.
Step 3 Play the tape. Read after the tape.
Step 4 Practice in three.
Step 5 Mini-research
Name radio CD player toys telephone V X V V
Ask a classmate: Do you have a telephone If the answer you get is “Yes.”, you put a V under the word; If the answer is “NO”, you put a X under the word.
Step 6 Play a game
T: Does (name) have a CD player (If you know the answer, please stand up and tell us “Yes, he does. OR No, he doesn’t.)
Step 7 Homework: Listen to the tape and read the dialogue.
Period Three
Teaching procedure:
Step 1 Revision (Just like free talk)
Step 2 Presentation
T: I’m Miss Chen. I come from Zhongshan. (Get the class to read the sentence) Encourage the students to say “ I’m…. I come from….”.
Step 3 Talk to each other freely.
Step 4 Listen to the tape and follow it.
Step 5 Finish Practice 2, then check the answers.
Step 6 Homework Read the dialogue after class three times.
