句型： 主句 + 引导词 + 从句

引导词及其作用
引导词 引导词的作用 举 例
that 本身无意义，不做句子成分，只起连接作用，口语中可省略。 He said (that) the fastest way to travel was by plane.
if / whether 意为“是否”，不做句子成分，但不能省略。 Let’s see if / whether we can find out some information about that city
what, which, who, whose, who 等连接代词 在从句中做一定的成分，如主语、宾语、定语等。 Please tell me who / whom we have to see.The teacher told us whose writing was that best in our class.
when（指时间），where（指地点），how（表方式）等连接副词 在从句中做状语。 Do you know where we can stay on the island He asked me when I was going to write a letter to Jim.
引导词的使用
1、陈述句变宾语从句： that （口语和非正式文体中可以省略）
He thought that he would be successful some day.
2、一般疑问句变宾语从句：if / whether 引导
She wonders whether the water can be drunk.
3、特殊疑问句变宾语从句：连接代词和连接副词
Mother asked me where I had put the umbrella.
4、选择疑问句变宾语从句：whether…or…
They asked me whether I would go to movies or stay at home.
5、祈使句变宾语从句：to do （不定式结构）
The police told the child not to play in the street.
时态的呼应
1、主句用一般现在时，从句可根据需要用任何一种时态。
I believe he has finished the work.
2、主句用一般过去时，从句一定要用与过去相关的时态。
I asked him whether he had finished the work.
3、从句部分是客观真理，不管主句是什么时态，从句用一般现在时。
The teacher told the students that the earth is round the sun.
从句的语序
宾语从句的语序要用陈述句的语序，即：主语 + 谓语
He asked me why I had been late.
否定的转移
当主句的谓语动词是think, believe, suppose 等，而主句的主语又是第一人称时，后接从句的否定词通常要前移，即否定主句动词。
I don’t think he is right.
I don’t believe he will tell a lie.
I don’t suppose he will come.
改写句子：将两个句子合并成一个句子。
