Unit 5 Where are you going
The third period
I、 Teaching Contents:
1、Let’s chant, 通过说有节奏、有韵律的歌谣学习与巩固本课所学的单词。
2、Let’s sing. 通过歌曲的学习,激发的兴趣,巩固所学的单词。
3、 Let’s sing. 通过歌曲的学习,激发的兴趣,巩固所学的单词。
II、Teaching Aims:
1、 学会本课的八个新单词。( movie, swimming pool, hospital, shopping mall, restaurant, park, beach.)
2、 在一定的情景中运用本课的新单词。
3、 养学生的注意力,激发学生的积极思维,挖掘学生运用语言的创造能力。
III、Teaching Aids:
本课的单词图片;录音机;磁带。
IV、Teaching Procedure
Step 1 Revision
1. Look at the pictures. P.24.
S1: Where is she going
S2: She’s going to the …
2. Ask and answer ( P.25.)
Step 2 Presentation
Activity
Getting ready
Write Where are you going I’m going to the hospital. On the board.
Point to are you and have Ss think other combinations, e.g. is he , are they, etc., and write them under are you on the board.
Repeat the procedures to make lists under I’m and the hospital.
Have Ss look at the pictures in the game board.
T: ( point to Ms. Black and the school.) (S1’s name) can you make a question
S1: Where is she going (S2’s name) can you answer the question
S2: She’s going to school.
Do the same with several more pictures until Ss understand what to do.
Using the book
Demonstrate the game with one pair of Ss first. Give the pair paper tokens and die.
Have S1 roll the die and move his/her paper token along the board.
S2: makes a question about the picture where S1 lands and S1 answers accordingly.
Then S2 rolls the die and moves his/her token.
Put the Ss into pairs and give each pair paper tokens and a die.
Walk around the classroom to see how Ss are doing.
Continue the game until all Ss reach the finish.
Sounds and words
Getting ready
Write park on the board and underline ar.
T: ( point to ar.) Let’s practice this sound. Look at my month and repeat.
T: / a: r /. Ss: / a: r /.
Make sure that the peak of the soud is / a: r /. Show Ss your month open with the jaw lowered. Then turn your tip of the tongue upwout touching the palate.
Using the book
Have Ss look at the pictures on the page.
T: Let’s listen to the tape.
Play the tape and this time, repeat.
Have Ss repeat after the tape.
After enough practice, point to the pictures randomly and have Ss say the words.
Listen and chant
Getting ready
Have Ss look at the sentences on the page.
Read out the sentences and have Ss listen.
T: Which words have the sound / a: r / Circle them.
Ask individual Ss to Circle the words.
Using the book
T: Let’s listen to the chant.
Play the tape once.
T: Now let’s practice.
Read out the lyrics sentence by sentence and have Ss repeat.
T: Let’s chant together.
Play the tape and have Ss chant along.

教后记:本课继续学习现在进行时的一般问句及回答和8个词组。大部分学生能把词组运用到句中进行操练。通过以各种不同的形式操练句型,因此,学生对本课句型掌握较好。但词组较长。部分学生较难掌握,待后加强训练。个别学生对于新单词的发音还有待加强,特别是要做好学困生的课后辅导工作。同时,在开展练习和游戏的过程中如果活动前作详细的讲解,相信效果会更好。
