Unit 6 It’s 3: 15!
The first period
一、Teaching Contents:
1、Let’s check听力练习检查学生对unit 5 所学内容的掌握情况。
2、Let’s chant, 通过说有节奏、有韵律的歌谣学习与巩固本课所学的单词。
3、Let’s sing. 通过歌曲的学习,激发的兴趣,巩固所学的单词。
4、 Let’s think. 通过联想,培养学生运用新单词的能力。
二、Teaching Aims:
1、能学会本课的八个新单词。( get up , get dressed, brush my teeth, do to school, get home, do my homework, eat dinner, do to bed.)
2、能在一定的情景中运用本课的新单词。
3、培养学生的注意力,激发学生的积极思维,挖掘学生运用语言的创造能力。
二、Teaching Aids:
本课的单词图片;录音机;磁带。
三、Teaching Procedure
Step 1 Revision
1. Let’s sing and chant.
2.Let’s have dictation. ( unit 5 words.)
Step 2 presentation
Conversation
Getting ready
Bring in a large clock with adjustable hands.
Hold up the clock and position the hands at 3: 00.
T: What time is it Ss: It’s 3: 00.
Repeat the procedure with 3: 15, 4:30 and 5: 45. Model the answer for 4: 30 and 5: 45.
Using the book
T: Let’s listen to the tape.
Hold up the book and point to the pictures.
T: Let’s listen again and repeat.
Play the tape, pausing after each expression to have Ss repeat.
T: Repeat after me.
Read each line of the dialog and model the voice expressions, e.g. Tony’s sleepy voice, Gogo’s excited voice, etc.
Put Ss into pairs.
Give Ss time to practice acting out the dialog.
Vocabulary

Show Ss the picture side of picture cards 41-50
T: Listen and repeat. Get up. ( Show the word side of the picture card.)
Ss: Get up
Continue with other picture cards.
Ask Ss to make up pantomimes for these phrases.
Using the book
T: Listen to the tape and repeat. Point to each picture as you say it.
Play the tape and have Ss repeat each word.
Pantomime the actions in random order and have Ss say the words.
Point to the numbers 21-60 in the book and read them aloud. Have Ss listen and repeat.
Using a large clock, help Ss understand the relationship between the numbers 21-60 and the minutes on the clock.

Getting ready
Write It’s time to_____. And What time do you_____ On the board.
Put one of the picture cards in the blank ( picture side up) of the first sentence.
T: It’s time to go to bed.
Ss: It’s time to go to bed.
Change the picture cards quickly without modeling the sentences to have Ss do a substitution drill.
Do the same with the other sentences.
Using the book
Ask individual Ss to read out the sentences.
Play the tape a few times and have Ss practice with the tape.
Step 3 Summary
Today we have learned 8 words and Asking for and telling the time , Giving commands, Asking about and describing, What time one does things.
Step 4 Homework
1.Copy the new words.
2.Read p.29-30.
