What are you supposed to do when you meet someone
You’re supposed to kiss/bow/shake hands.因此,be supposed to do的语法结构是本节课的重点。
Step1: 1. Warm up.
1. Watch a flash movie about customs.
2. Learn the new words and phrases by pictures.
Step2: Lead-in. What do people do when they meet for the first time
What are you supposed to do when you meet people for the first time 做准备。
让学生知道Different countries have different customs。
Step 3. Presentation
1. Point to the picture and say:
What are you supposed to do when you meet people from Brazil for the first time
You are supposed to kiss when you meet people from Brazil for the first time.
讲解be supposed to do的语法结构。

1. Listen to the tape .

Talk about what people in different countries do when they meet for the first time.
- What are people in your city supposed to do when they meet for the first time
- They’re supposed to … …
Step6: Listening 2a 2b
(in)the wrong way 以错误的方式
You should have asked what you were supposed to wear.
Step 7:Pairwork
Role play the conversation between Maria and Dan.
- How was the dinner at Paul’s house last night
- Well, it was OK, but I made some mistakes. I was supposed to arrive at 7:00, but I arrived at 8:00.
…
…
Step 8:Practice
Step 9: Homework
