Unit 9(Book eight)
They are good for you.
The first period:(Vocabulary and Target)
Target:1,The new words.
2What’s wrong with you I had too much cola.
Teaching key points:enough ,not enough ,plenty ,too much ,good for you ,bad for you,healthy,unhealthy.
Teaching aids:tape-recorder,teaching-cards.
Teaching procedure:
一 、Greeting
二 、Free talk:Where did you go… S1:I went to … S2:I went to …
三、Vocabulary
1、 Getting ready:Put picture cards 49-56 on the board.
2、 T(point to enough .)enough .then ask the students to repeat .
T:(point to not enough, not enough ,ask the students to repeat too.
3、 Continue with the other cards.
4、 Using the book :
Listen to the tape and point to each word as you say it.
Play the tape ,and have the Ss repeat each word.
Point to the pictures at random and have Ss say the word.
Introduce the Bonus vocabulary:junk food and get exercise.Use realia and pantomimes.
5 Game:Place food realia on a table in front of the class and mix them up.Put two large boxes in front of the table and label them Healthy and Unhealthy .Divide the class into two teams .Ask one student from each team to choose an item and place it in the correct box.
四:Target.
1、 Getting ready.Write healthy and unhealthy on the board.
Show picture cards of various foods and activities.
T:Is this healthy or unhealthy ,S1
Continue with the reest of the cards.
2、 Using the book:Point to the pictures and model the dialogs.
T:Let’s listen to the tape and repeat.
Play the tape and pause after each sentence.Allow Ss time to repeat .
Put students into pairs to pratice the dialogs.
Encourage Ss to substitute the words and create new dialogs.
五 、Summary:sum up the new words we have learn.
六、Home work.
Blackboard writing :
enough plenty good for you healthy
not enough too much bad for you unhealthy
What’s good /bad for you
Green’s are good for you.
