Unit 10 (Book eight)
We’re going to go to Tibet.
The first period : (Vocabulary and Target)
Target :The new words and the sentences:
How are you going to get to Guang zhoou
We’re going to go by bus.Where are you going to stay
We’are going to stay in a hotel.
Teaching aids :tape-recorder,teaching-cards.
Teaching procedure:
一、Greeting.
二 、Review: talk about the weather and the date. Do you remember the words in unit 9 Read the words in unit nine .
三、Learn some new words.
Put picture cards 57-64 on the board .
T(point to by ship)By ship.Repeat.Read the words .We are going by ship .
Continue witth the othercards.
Listen to the tape and repeat.Point to each word you say it.
Play the tape and have Ss repeat each word.
Point to the picture at random and have individual Ss say the word.
四 、Learn target .
Ask Ss to tell you the names of five cities.
Write them on thee board.
T; (point to the name of a city,)Ask one student :How are you going to get to …
Continue with thee rest oof thee places.
Have the Ss look at the pictures on the page.
Ask individual Ss to read oout the sentences.
Play the tape for a few times and have Ss practice along with the tape.
Put Ss into groups oof three and have theem act out the dialogs.
五、Eextension activities.Put Ss in pairs.Ask each pair too make up a new dialog based on the target .Help Ss by giving an example.then have Ss finish the rest of the dialog.
