主语 who which that/as
宾语 whom which that/as
定语 whose/of whom whose/of which
1.当先行词为all, everything, nothing, anything, little, much等不定代词时.
Tell me everything that you know.
2.当先行词被very, both, the only, all, every, no any, little, much, some修饰时.
This is the only coat that I have.
This is the most beautiful city that I visited.
This is the first lesson that we have this term.
He hasn’t sent us the workers and equipment that we need.
Which is the coat that you like best
China is no longer the country that she was.
prep + whom/which
I don’t know the old woman to whom I gave the umbrella yesterday.
This is the factory which/that I once worked in.
This is the hotel (which/that) they are staying at.
When/that 表示时间的名词 时间状语
He came at a time when (=at which) we needed help.
The day will come when (=on which) we’ll win the final victory.
We know the place where (=in which) our teacher lives.
Do you know the reason why (=for which) he was so sorry
如果time之前无序数词或last,则用when或that引导.
The last time (that)I saw him was in 2001.
We admired the way (that) he solved the problem.
I don’t like the way (in which) you spoke to her.
They didn’t do it the way (that) we do now.

It was a beautiful Sunday morning, and Maggie and I were returning from our walk through the woods. We were only a couple of blocks from home when I spotted a cell phone and a credit card sitting on the road.We took them home.We always find amazing things on the street and she looks upon them as a movable feast-a chicken wing here or a barbecue rib (肋骨)there.
I found another cell phone a few years back, too, and called a number in its phone book.I explained the situation to the guy who answered. He said it was his sister's and that he'd come to pick it up, which he did.
And that was that.No verbal thank-you, no written thank-you, no “here's a box of chocolates” thank-you.
I didn't have time to call anyone on my latest found cell phone.I was pouring myself coffee when it started to shake and dance across the kitchen counter.
“Who's this ” someone asked when I picked up.
“Who's this ” I countered(反问).“Sarah ”
She was surprised at my knowing her name until she realized her name was on the credit card.“Could you send them to me ” she asked.
She lives in Arlington, which is 2 miles from my house.
“Hmm, no, ”I replied, adding that I thought she could come to get them, and that if I wasn't at home, they would be in my mailbox.
A day later, when I was out for a run, someone got them back. There wasn't even a piece of paper put in the mailbox with “Thanks” on it.In this age of e-mail and cell phone, there's really no excuse.Years ago, I found something more precious than a $100 bill on the street:a driver's license.I saw that its owner lived a couple of blocks from me, so I called him up.He asked whether I could slip the license through his front door.
“I guess I could, ”I replied.
And that was that.

To get an extra 14 years of life, don't smoke, eat lots of fruits and vegetables, exercise regularly and drink alcohol in a proper amount. That is according to a study published this Monday in the Public Library of Science Medicine Journal.
After tracking more than 20,000 people aged 45 to 79 years in the United Kingdom from about 1993 to 2007, Kay-Tee Khaw of the University of Cambridge and his colleagues found that people who adopted these four healthy habits lived all average of 14 years longer than those who didn't.
“We've known for a long time that these behaviors are good things to do, but we've not seen this benefit before, ”said Susan Jebb, head of Nutrition and Health at Britain's Medical Research Council.“The benefit was also seen regardless of whether or not people were fat and what social class they came from.”
Study participants(参与者)scored a point each for not smoking, regular physical activity, eating five servings of fruits and vegetables a day and moderate alcohol intake.
Public health experts said they hoped the study would inspire governments to introduce policies helping people to adopt these changes. But because the study only observed people rather than testing specific changes, it would be impossible to conclude that people who suddenly adopted these healthy behaviors would surely gain 14 years.
“We can't say that any person could gain 14 years by doing these things, ”said Dr.Tim Armstrong, a physical activity expert at the World Health Organization.“The 14 years is an average across the population of what's theoretically(理论上地)possible.”
“Most people know that things like a good diet matter and that smoking isn't good for them, ”Susan Jebb said.“We need to work on providing people with much more practical support to help them change.”

B.the study observed people as well as tested specific changes.
C.there's no need for people under 45 to adopt these good habits.
D.only those from first class can benefit from these healthy behaviors.
70.What can be inferred from the passage
A.All the people are well aware of the harm of their bad habits.
B.People aged 45 to 70 have bad habits in the United Kingdom.
C.Governments should take measures to help people change their bad habits.
D.People have adopted the four healthy habits after knowing they're good.

During the recent milk crisis in China, different related parts of the society have been put under the microscope, including stars.
An online survey asked if celebrity spokespersons should bear responsibility for endorsing (代言) tainted milk products.Thirty four percent answered “yes”.They said that the celebrities had betrayed the trust of the people and should be more morally responsible.
They are right. But what’s more important is that we should train ourselves to be wise enough not to blindly accept what is being sold, even by our favorite stars.
No doubt television advertisements, together with other media products, inform and entertain us.But, too often, there are hidden messages in the information we receive. The songs we hear, the images we see, and the articles we read, are carefully selected to convey political, cultural, economic and moral messages. The mass media delivers us these messages in an attempt to persuade us into believing or buying whatever is being pushed.
The question is: should we always believe what the advertisement or mass media says The answer is that we should use our minds to dig out the hidden meaning and rely on our own judgment to make a choice.
In some countries, students take a course called “media literacy”.They learn to analyze the mass media. They are encouraged to challenge everything they see or hear and to do research into missing views. They learn to ask questions and to be critical (批判性的) thinkers.
72.What does the underlined word “tainted” in the second paragraph probably mean
A.Popular. B.Healthy. C.Tasteless. D.Harmful.
73.The writer mentioned celebrity spokespersons to .
A.point out the shortcomings of advertisements
B.call on us to think more about the product
C.warn us not to blindly copy popular stars
D.stress that they are to blame for misleading
74.What can we conclude from Paragraph 4
A.The media products are created with a purpose.
B.We should take media products as entertainment.
C.Messages in products do no good to customers.
D.We seldom take some information for granted.
75.To think critically, we need to do the following except .
A.making judgment about what we see and hear
B.analyzing the intention of messages presented
C.making a decision after asking for others’ opinion
D.digging out the missing views behind the information

Recently, a website organized a questionnaire survey about why people go to university.According to the survey.we know that different students have different ideas.
Fifteen percent of the students go to university in order to help their parents and relatives live a happy life and one fifth of them go to university to earn more money and buy a house.Only five percent of the students are for the purpose of realizing their self-development.
Naturally some students have other opinions. But I agree with those students who go to university in order to improve themselves and with those who want to find a good job. Finally, no matter who we are, we must do as the students do who show their sense of responsibility to our country and society.

Here in the USA, college life can be as interesting as you can imagine. It is a time to experience new things and studies alone do not satisfy the students. This is where out—of—class activities come in.These activities range from clubs, organizations and groups to sports. They are all directed by students themselves. Each organization has an advisor, but student members plan all activities and events. In a university there are as many as hundreds of student organizations for students to choose from. Each student is sure to have a club or group that fits his needs or interests. The clubs range from religion to community service, sports and hobbies. For example, there are ski clubs, yoga clubs, dance clubs, etc.If you cannot find a club that you are interested in, you can have an idea for a new club, and form one yourself. All you have to do is to pass the idea through the school and find an advisor and if the school agrees, you’ll have a new student organization!
Clubs and organizations help students explore their interests, which may turn into lifelong hobbies or even become their careers in life.
