Football is different from most careers. There are no advertisements, applications forms or interviews. The employers, the football clubs, find players and offer them employment. The clubs look for young players with particular qualities and, most importantly, talent. The players should be very, very good and play for a leading club, they must be outstanding. Besides, they should have good team spirit, a strong character, mental strength and a positive attitude.
Many countries have set up programs to encourage and develop young footballers, and this is where the clubs go to assess and find stars of the future. China has special football schools where children acquire ball skills as well as a formal education. In the UK, the clubs send scouts (球探) to discover talented boys and girls. They take part in training sessions, and play in the junior team. Some of them, if good enough, may become a paid member of staff at the age of 16. During this time, they receive football instruction and play for the youth team, but it is not an easy life. After two years, only a few trainees are good enough to go on to the next stage. They are offered a contract (合同) with a club and their salary depends on their performance and how many matches their team wins. Perhaps, like David Beckham, one or two become great stars. However, football is a fiercely competitive job, so many players are not successful and have to leave the profession to find other careers.
Little David was football crazy. He spent all his spare time kicking a ball. He dreamed of being a footballer and scoring goals in front of thousands of cheering fans. David’s dream comes true. Now he is famous for haircuts and lifestyle as well as for scoring goals. David Beckham’s story has a happy ending, but most of the children who have the same wish will never have the opportunity to play for a team. Dreams of the young, though they have done their best, do not always come true.

B. The young players can receive a formal education in this way.

D. Paid posts can be offered to the young players in this way.
Why do many young players have to leave football game to find other careers
A. Because only a few are allowed to become stars.
B. Because only a few can win the final.
C. Because they can not stand the hard life.
D. Because they are not offered any contracts with the clubs.
What’s the purpose of the last paragraph

City traffic is a great problem. More cars are produced every year and the streets are getting more and more crowded. So during rush hours, when people are going to or from their work, traffic is brought to a standstill. It has been suggested that people should share their cars and give each other lifts. So each car would carry four or five people instead of only one. It is a good idea. However, so far nobody has been able to think of a way to make people do so.
When you park at a meter (计时器) you must put a coin in the slot. This pays for a certain amount of time. The meter records this and it shows the time that you have paid for is finished. If the car is still there then, you have to pay a fine.
Traffic wardens (管理人)look after the meters. They walk around the streets and check that every meter shows that money has been paid for the car parked there. If a meter shows “Time Expired”, the motorist who has left his car there is fined. Of course, the traffic warden cannot wait for the owner of the car to return. He carries a pile of paper, and on one of these he writes down all the details, such as the number of the car, where it is parked, how much the driver must pay and where he must send the money. He leaves this form on the car where the driver will be able to see it easily. When the driver comes back, he gets an unpleasant surprise, but it is his own mistake to park his car too long at a parking meter.
67. Why has the suggestion that people should share their cars not been followed

A. always wait for the owners of the cars to find them
B. leave the forms where it is easy for the drivers to find them
C. usually get the fined money at once
D. always give people an unpleasant surprise

There are no exact differences between physics and other natural sciences because all sciences overlap (有相重之处). In general, however, physics is the scientific study of forces and qualities such as heat, light, sound, pressure, gravity and electricity, and the ways they affect other objects.
One major branch of physics deals with the states of matter—solid, liquid and gas—and with the motions moving. The pioneer achievements of Galileo, Kepler and Newton dealt with solid, masses of matter in motion. Such studies deal with forces acting on moving objects. It is the subject of mechanics and belongs to the branch of mechanics called dynamics, the study of matter in motion. This large topic includes not only the motions of stars and Ping?Pong balls but also the motions of the water pumped by a fire engine and those of the air passing through the jet engine of an airplane.
Another branch of mechanics is statics, the study of matter at rest. The designs of buildings and bridges are examples of problems in statics. Other branches of physics are based on the different kinds of energy which interacts (互相作用) with matter. They deal with electricity and magnetism(电磁学), heat, light and sound. From these branches of physics scientists find clues which have revealed (揭示) the constructions of atoms (原子) and how the atoms react to various kinds of energy. This knowledge is often called the basic of modern physics. Among the many subdivisions (分支) of modern physics are electronics and nuclear physics. Physics is closely related to engineering. A person who uses knowledge of physics in solving everyday problems is often called an engineer. For example, electricity is one of the branches of physics? and an electrical engineer is a man who uses the natural laws of electricity to help in designing an electric generator (发电机).
71. Physics is not exactly different from other natural sciences because _______.
A. physics and other natural sciences have parts in common
B. it is the scientific study of forces and qualities such as heat, light and sound
C. it studies the ways in which forces and qualities affect other objects
D. it is a part of other natural sciences
72.The following statements are included in the study of dynamics EXCEPT ______.
A. the moon’s circling the earth
B. the movement of the outside of the earth
C. the motions of water pumped from a well
D. the design and construction of skyscrapers
73. _______ is among the many branches of modern physics.
A. Statics B. Electricity C. Electronics D. Mechanics
74. The underlined words “This knowledge” in Paragraph 3 refer to ______.
A. electricity and magnetism, light and sound
B. the constructions of atoms and their reactions to various kinds of energy
C. the basis of modern physics
D. electronics and nuclear physics
75. The passage is mainly about ______.
A. the changes in our life brought about by physics
B. the states and motions of solid, liquid and gas
C. the interactions of matter with different kinds of energy
D. the branches making up the science of physics

The summer holiday is coming. Our class have had a discussion about what to do during the holiday.
Some are in favor of staying at home. They think it's both convenient and comfortable. What's more, they can save money for other purposes. But they will lose the chance of getting to know the outside world.
However, others prefer to go out for traveling since it can increase their knowledge and broaden their horizons. But they will spend more money and meet some difficulties while traveling.
In my opinion, it would be much better to stay at home, for I can do what I like, such as reading books, watching TV, and helping my parents with the housework.
