To review the vocabulary:please thank you cat crocodile duck dog.
Teaching difficulties:
To make sentences with the vocabulary.
Preparation:
1.the Poster for this Unit
2.craft materials such as yarn string colored paper scraps of cloth glue
3.some scissors, glue crayons.
Teaching steps:
1.Warm- up
a,Bfgin the class with students saying the rhyme loudly encourageing to clap to keep the rhyme.
b.Say the following commands and have children listen to and follow them"Boys stand up.Girls sit down.Girls stand up"Say"Hi to a boy.Say "Hello "to a girl .Say "Please "to a girl .Say "thank you "to a boy.
2.Review with Poster
a.Allow the children an opportunity to produce anything they can about the illustration.Ask "What can you see "give the children a chance to react to the ilustration .Do they like How does it make them feel Do they think it's funny
b.Point to Mocky and ask"Who's this"Elicit"Mocky".Do the same for Ann ad Ken.
c.Say"Show me a boy"or "Point to a boy"and have children listen and point to a boy in the picture.Repeat this for girl and monkey.
d.Now point to Mocky's speech bubble and elicit what he is saying .Then point to Ken and ask what he is saying .repeat the procedure with Ann.
3.Draw the face.
a.say "Touch your hair:Have the children follow the instruction and touch the corresponding part,Repeat with ear,mouth nose eye.
b.Have children open their books and look at the pictures on the page .Point to the first picture.Say"Draw the eyes:have children draw out the eye for the cat.continue woth month and nose.
c.Repeat the procedures to finish the other pictures .tell the children that they need to draw creatively with the banana and apple picture .Alternatively you can have the children work in pairs ,have them give out instructures in turns to finish the drawing.
4.find and color
a.Have children look at the words beginning with Ccand Dd on page 14 again .have them read the words.
b.Use the word cards to review the words learned in this unit and unit one .
c.Children open their books and look at the picture.Ask them to describe it Who can they see Where are the characters What are they doing
d.Explain that in the picture there are some hidden objects.they have to find them and make a circle around each of them.
e.give children some time to look for the objects .Check the activity together by having children show you where the things are hidden.
5.Extension
A.Explain to the children that they are going to pretend that it is their first day at a new school,and they are meeting each other for the first time.
b.Ask for two children to help you model the language in front of the class.stand behing one child and pretend to be him or her.Say"Hi\Hello.I'm ......Encourage the child to repeat the sentences .then stand behind the other child and repeat the process,answering "Hi\Hello I'm.....
c.Have children walk around the classroom and practise the dialog with at least three other children.
