Teaching procedure:
1. Warming up
A. Greeting.
T: Hello, nice to see you again. Today we’re going to learn Unit 2 What day is it today Target. Read it together. Ss: Unit 2 What day is it today
B. Singing English song “ That makes a week.”
T: First, let’s sing the song “That makes a week.”
2. Revision: Review the days of a week.
T: Very good. Now let’s play a game. Look at the word and answer my question. Ready Go! What day is it today S1: It’s Monday / Thursday / Saturday/ Sunday / Wednesday/ Friday / Tuesday.
3. Presentation and practice
A. Show the fingers and ask Ss: What day is it today T gets Ss to answer. T teaches the sentences: What day is it today It’s Monday.
T: Look at my finger. What day is it today Ss: It’s Monday / Tuesday / ….
B. Do the action or show the pictures, then teach the expressions: play basketball, play badminton, play ping-pong, play tennis, play baseball, play the violin, play the piano.
