Unit Three Can you sing
Teaching objective：
1. Language functions：
Asking about ability
2. Language structures：
Can you read Yes, I can. What about you No, I can’t.
But I can fly.
3. New vocabulary：
fly, read, sing, draw, swim, cook, goat, girl, hat, inset, ink
Teaching key points：
Master the pattern: Can you… Yes, I can. /No, I can’t.
Teaching difficult points：
Mast the words.
Teaching aids：
(1) pictures cards
(2) Recorder.
Period one
(Conversation, vocabulary, target, practice 1,2, chant)
Teaching steps:
1. Organization of the class: greeting, songs of English.
2. Revision of the class: recite the lesson learned before.
3. Teaching of the new words: fly, read, sing, draw, swim, cook
4. Showing a picture of a boy /a girl, point to him/her and ask: Can you sing Do the action singing. Let the pupils understand the meaning. Teach them answer: Yes, I can. /No, I can’t.
5. Listen to the recorder, learn to read the words.
Practice: read after the teacher or the tape, then by themselves or let the students play the words game.
6. Do activity 1, pay attention to he answer wrong or right.
7. Listen to the tape of conversation. Teach how to read. Students read it freely.
8. Act the dialogue in pairs.
9.listen to the target.
10.Teacher asks the question freely in the middle of the students.
11. Let the pupils do it like just now. Ask some students to act the little teacher.
12. Do the practice 2 themselves and check four students.
Listen to the tape and read the chant.
13. Homework:
1) Copy the new words.
2) Read the conversation five times.

Teaching steps：
1. Organization of the class:
Greeting between teacher and students.
2. Review the contents learned before.
Act the role play in the lessons
3. Teaching the new contents:
Show the songs “ Can you draw ” and then let them listen to the tape twice.
Teacher: helps the students to sing after him one sentence by one sentence.
Pay attention to the pronunciation of ‘draw’
Practice: group by group, or several students.
Ask some students sing the song before the class.
4. Teaching the new words: goat, girl, hat, inset, ink
Say the new words one by one.
5. Play the activity2.: point and say.
6. Listen and chant: -- (Girl, hat, insect) Read after the teacher for three times. Read it together.
7. Listen to the tape and do activity 1.
Homework:
Read conversation six times. Copy the new words.
