The first period

Teaching procedure
Step 1.Revision
1.Sing the songs: “What’s your name ” &“ What day is today ”.
2.Ask and answer the questions:
1) Are you hungry

3) What day is it today
4) What do you do on Monday
Step 2.Presentation
Learn the Conversation
1.Show some objects and ask Ss to answer:
T: What’s this/that
S: It’s a/an….
2.Show an ice cream cone and ask:
T: What’s this
T: It’s an ice cream cone. (Teach the word: ice cream cone)
(Pass the ice cream cone to one student and say)
T: Can I have an ice cream cone, please
The Student gives the ice cone to the teacher back
T: Thank you.
3.Write the sentence on the blackboard:
Can I have a/an …
Answer: …….
Thank you.
4.Read the sentence and ask Ss to guess the meaning of it
5.Group work: practice the drill
6.Free talk:
A: Can I …
T: Yes. Here you are.
A: Thank you.
T: You’re welcome.
7.Write the sentence and help Ss to say Can I have a/an …

8 .Tell Ss the word” May “ may be replaced by the word ”Can”

12. Learn the Vocabulary
(1)Create the environment to teach the words:
Pass a ruler to a student and say:You have a ruler. teach the word“have”, teach another word“use”and say:use, I use the ruler. etc。
(2)Teach the other vocabulary in a similar way:buy, call ,borrow,
watch listen.
(3)Listen to the tape and repeat,
( 4)Game :look and guess
13.Pair work : do it like the following: chain activities
