Unit 3 Things I like to do
教材简析:
本单元的教学内容围绕一些活动展开。 Let’s act中,先学习了两个祁使句“Come and play with me.”来和我一起玩。 “Come and sing with me”来和我一起唱。Let’s talk部分中,主要接触了句型 I like to play. I like to write. Let ’s learn中,主要介绍了几种运动名称如: play , run ,sleep , swim ,egg, fish. 在Let’s enjoy 中,教了一首歌,着重加强了 I like to sing/I like dance/I like to play.以及 Sing with me.Dance with me.Write with me.。整个单元中的重难点在“I like to…”这个句型上, 教师要认真教授这个句型,并帮助学生在能正确认读的基础上,根据挂图做相应的对话表演。在学生交际操练阶段,应鼓励学生用多种单词进行句型的操练,并要求学生理解、会说、会运用。
教学要求:
1. 能听懂、会说几个动作名称: play , sing , dance , sleep, run , swim.
2. 能用句型 ‘I like to…’。
3. 能使用词组 ‘Sing with me’ ‘Dance with me’ ‘Write with me.’
教学重点:
见教学要求1、2。
教学难点:
见教学要求2,3
教具准备:
Cassette, Cassette player, Word and Picture Cards,tape.
课时安排: 共五课时。
第一课时: A Let’s act.

The first period: A Let’s act.

Using imperative to give simple instructions
e.g.Come and play with me.
Using connectives to add information

TEACHING PROCEDURES:
Step1 Greetings
Good afternoon boys and girls.
T:How are you
S:Fine ,thank you .And you
T:I’m fine,too.
Step2 Pre-task preparation
1. Revise the classroom instructions language students have learned.
e.g. ‘Clean the desk , please’ ‘Come with me’.Ask students to listen and act.
Step3 While-task procedure
1. Put a microphone,a ball,a pencils and a crayon on the table.Take the ball and put it in front of the class.Ask students to guess what you are doing.Say ‘play’ slowly and ask students to repeat.
2. Hold a microphone in hand and pretend to sing .Ask students to guess what you are doing.Say ‘sing’ slowly and ask students to repeat.
3. Invite individual students to come up and play the ball with you. Say ‘Come and play with me’.So that students understand the meaning of the command.
Step 4 Post-task activity
1. Divide students into pairs.Have one student say the commands and the other mine the actions.Then let them change roles.
2. Invite pairs of students to act out the dialogue to the class.Students vote for the best pairs.

2. Ask students what they like to do at home.Then say Sam and May like to do some of those things,too.Let’s find out what they like .
Step3 While—task procedure
1. Put up the wallchart for page13.Tell a story something like this :
Sam and May are happy children.They enjoy doing many things .One day ,May was playing with Kitty.May said ‘I like play’.Can you see the cat muppet on her hand Kitty thought that it was real like her !May has other toys like a doll and a ball that she likes to play with,too. She also likes to dance.What about Sam What does he like to do Sam was writing in his exercise book .He said ‘I like to write’.Sam likes tp play football ,too.How abouot you
2. Then ask questions such as the following:
*What does May to do
*What does Sam like to do
3. Say ‘I like to play/dance/write.’and do the corresponding actions at the same time .Encourage students to copy you .
4. Open the Studengt’s Book to page 12.Play the casstte tape.Ask students to listen and follow the tape .
Step4 Post-task activities
Say May said ‘I like to play.’Sam said ‘I like to write’’Let’s have a chance to say what you like to do.Call on various students.
Encourage them to use ‘I like to …’

Step1 Warm up
1. Greetings .
2. Sing a song ‘hello’
Step2 Pre-task preparation
1. Put up the wallchart for page 13.Point to the characters on the wallchart respectively and say the words ‘play’ and ‘sleep’ slowly in English.Repeat for students to follow .
2. Pretend to run and swim on the sport.Say ‘I like to run’.and ‘I like to swim ‘. Repeat ‘run’ and ‘swim’ for students to follow.
Step3 While-task procedure
1. Stick the picture cards for ‘play’,’run’,’sleep’and ‘swim’on the board and ask What do you like to do Do a survey and see which is the most popular activity.
2. Place the word cards under the corresponding pictures.Then remove the pictures and read the words with the whole class.
3. Open the Student’s Book to page 14.Play the cassette tape for students to listen to the correct pronunciation.Ask students to point to the relevant pictures pictures and repeat the words.
4. Put up the picture and word cards on the board in a random order.Ask individual students to come up and re-arrange them by putting the word cards below their corresponding picture cards,as shown in their student’s book .
5. Show students the picture card for ‘egg’and say Egg. Begins with sound ‘e’..Show the word card for “egg”and say ‘E..egg’.Repeat.Show alphabet cards “E’and ‘e’.Have students compare the capital letter’E’with the small letter ‘e’.Do the same with ‘Ff..fish’.Play the tape for students to follow in their books.
Step 4 Post-task activity
Put up the word cards for this unit on the board.Ask various students to go up ,select a card,and use it in a sentence,starting with ‘I like to..’.
Step5 Consolidation

Step2 Pre-task preparation.
1. Review the action verbs taugut in the previous lesson as well as in Book 1A.Stick the word cards on the board. Hold up a picture card and ask ‘What do you like to do ’
Encourage individual students to say ‘I like to …(action)’ and put the picture card bext to its corresponding word card on the board.
2. Read the words on the board together
Step 3 While-task procedure
1. Prepare the finger puppets before class. Show how you tape the strips of paper together to fit these puppets onto your fingers. Move your fingers as you say “This is my …”
2. Provide some additional information as well, e.g. “This is John. This is my brother. He is six years old.” Ask the students to repeat many times.
3. Give one finger puppet to a student and ask him/her to come up and introduce the family member to the class, e.g. “This is May. This is my sister. She is five years old.”
4. Continue the game until most of the students have a chance to play. Make a few sets of the finger puppets, so that students can practise in groups.
5. Open the books. Play the cassette tape to listen to and then say the expressions properly.
Step4 Post-task activity
In groups students draw their own family members and introduce them to their friends.

The fifth Period : E Let’s enjoy

A rhyme
TEACHING AIMS:
Pronounce correctly words in connected speech by linking words together and using appropriate stress.
TEACHING PROCEDURES :
Step1 Pre-task preparation
1. Pretend that you are Sam. Ask two boys and two girls to come up to the front. Give each the word cards for “father”, “mother”, “brother”, “sister” . Let another group of four students give each of them the corresponding picture card.
2. Read the words of the rhyme.
Step2 While-task procedure
1. Discuss with students what is happening in the first picture and then read the first verse to them.
2. Explain “is coming” and “ I love him” in students’ mother tongue.
3. Play the cassette tape for this verse. The students look at the picture in their books, listen and repeat.
4. Play the cassette tape again and encourage the students to join in and practise several times.
5. Invite pairs of students to act out the first verse.
6. Repeat the steps from 1 to 5 with the second and third verse.
7. Play the cassette tape for the whole rhyme. Invite students to read along and do the actions.
Step3 Post-task activities
1. Divide the class into pairs and let them compose another verse, substituting with “my sister”. Help the less able students while you walk around the classroom.
2. Invite pairs of students to act the new verse.
Step4 Consolidation
Read and practise several times. Pronounce the rhyme correctly.
Step5 Homework
Listen to the cassette tape Unit 7 after school.
