Teaching procedure
I. Pre-task
1. Daily talk
What have you got
Have you got a sketch-book
Where’s your sketch-book
Has your father got a pair of sunglasses
Where are they
Has your mother got a bicycle
Where is the bicycle
What can you do with the bicycle
What can’t you do with it
2. Rewrite the sentences
(1) My book is on the desk. (划线提问)
(2) Mike is sitting under the tree. (划线提问)
(3) The ducks are in the pond. (划线提问)
(4) The birds are flying in the sky. (划线提问)
(5) I can walk on the grass. (否定句)
II. While-task
1. T: Can we walk on the grass (No.) Look, here I have a sign which means “Don’t walk on the grass.”
Learn: sign 标志
walk 走,步行,散步
1) walk on the grass
e.g. Don’t walk on the grass!
2) walk in the park
e.g. I like to walk in the park.
3) walk to school =go to school on foot
e.g. I walk to school every day. ( I go to school on foot every day.)
2. I have other signs. Do you know the meanings
Show the signs and then know the meanings:
Don’t feed the birds.
feed喂
1) feed the children/ animals
e.g. Can you feed the birds
2) feed fish to the cat
e.g. He can feed fish to the cat for you.
Don’t pick the flowers.
pick摘 pick the flowers
pick up 捡、拾 pick up the sticks
Don’t play in the pond.
Don’t climb the trees.
Close the gate.
Close the door.
Know:
Don’t feed the birds. = We can’t feed the birds.
Practise the other sentences
Don’t pick the flowers. (换种说法, 保持意思不变)
Don’t play in the pond. (换种说法, 保持意思不变)
Don’t climb the trees. (换种说法, 保持意思不变)
We can’t run in the classroom. (换种说法, 保持意思不变)
We can’t write on the wall. (换种说法, 保持意思不变)
3. Try to say the reasons
e.g. Don’t feed the birds. Because they can’t eat a lot…
Don’t walk on the grass. Or it will die.
Don’t pick the flowers. Because they are beautiful/ others want to enjoy them too.
Don’t play in the pond. It’s dangerous.
……
4. Look at the signs and write the correct numbers in the circles on P32
III. Post-task
1. Make signs and write out the meanings according to the situation in groups

2. Exchange the signs

I. Pre-task
1. Ask one student to say something about the picture on P31.
2. Ask and answer according to the short passage.
Students ask and students answer.
3. Make a dialogue according to the passage.
4. Exercises:
1) Listen and fill in the missing blanks.

2) Rewrite the sentences.
a. Walk on the grass, please.(否定句)
b. Don’t close the gate.(肯定句,不改变原意)
c. I’ve got a packet of crisps.

II. While-task
1. Show the picture of the green frog which is in a tree.
T: What animal is this ( A frog.)
What color is it ( Green.)
Where is the frog (In a tree.)
Can you say a sentence according to the key
A green frog is in a tree.
Pay attention to the rules of the sounds.
Practice:

fr: freeze fried frame

2. Dialogue
1) Listen and answer

2) Read after the tape with books shut.
3) Read after the tape with books open.
III. Post-task
1) Act out the dialogue
2) Make a new dialogue: a packet of apples, a box of chocolates
IV. Homework
1. Rewrite the sentences.
