Ss should pay attention to the pronunciation of girl and woman.
Teaching aids:
Type-recorder, words cards, pictures
Step 1 Warming up:
Greetings.
Song: the more we get together.
Game: Memory game
Showing the pictures of persons in unite 1 and let Ss act.
Hello, My name is...
Nice to meet you!
Step 2 Presentation and drill
1. T takes out a doll and teaches the new word.
T: Girls like dolls. Ss learn to say girl.
T: Boys don’t like dolls. Ss learn to say boy.
T: You’re a boy; your father is a man. You’re a girl; your mother is a woman.
Ss practice these new words.
Ss learn to say:
Are you…
T takes out a water bottle and say: This is Lingling’s water bottle, but who is lingling Are you Lingling (T holes the water bottle and ask some students), Helping Ss to answer : No, I’m not.
2. Listen to the tape (Part A, B), read after the tape.
Step 3 Practices
1 Students in three act Part A.
2. Game: Who are you
Let some students hide behind teacher's desk and others ask “Are you… ”
Step 4. Consolidation
1. free talk.
2. Assessment.

4. Homework: listen to the tape, retell the text.

Mark “d”, let the Ss find out the reading-rule of d in the word dog.
Write out other words in part E with “d”,
Let Ss try to read.
