The First Period
教学目标: 充分认识身体的各位,让学生谈论事故和健康问题。
教学重点及难点:

教学过程
Step 1 Making a dialogue
Divide the students into some groups. Let them practice some sentences like this: P: patient D: doctor
P: Good morning, doctor!
D: Morning. What’s wrong with you
P: I’ve got a headache and a cough. I went to see a film last night, and it is very cold. But I wore light clothes.
D: Oh, I see. Let me look you over carefully. First take you temperature. Yes, you have a cold. Please take the medicine three times a day. I n a few days you’ll feel very well.
P: Thanks very much. I’ll remember what you said.
Let them remember some phrases about “see a doctor”.
Phrases: have a cold/ cough/ fever’ stomachache take one’s temperature ...
Step 2 Presentation
Section A 1a Let the students do 1a. The teacher can tell them some phrases that the students aren’t familiar.
Step 3 Listening
1 Read the instructions to students
2 Play the recording the first time. Students only listen.
3 Play the recording a second time. The text is easy that the students can do it easily.
Step 4 Practice
Role play the accidents and problems
A: What’s the matter
B: I’ve broken my arm.
A: How did you do that
B: I fell off my bike this morning.
Step 5 Listening
The listening text is a little longer so let the students listen to it three times. Then do 2a and 2b. At last check the answers.

教学目标:利用目标语进行阅读实践活动。通过学习新词汇,进一步描述事故及处理方法。
教学重点:词汇

Teaching steps:
Step 1:Revision

Step 2: Reading
Let the students to read the text by themselves and circle the words or phrases that they didn’t know.
Explain the difficulties then ask the Ss to read again and do 3b.
Check the answers.
Step 3: Presentation
Go through the six sentences and three pictures in 1. Then ask the Ss to put them to put them in order.
Step 4: Listening
1:Read the in structures to students
2.Play the recording the first time. Ss only listen
3.The second time ask the Ss to check the accidents they hear and correct the answers.
Go through a to h of 2b.Then listen the last time and finish the chart.
Step 5: Pairwork
Go through 2c and ask the Ss to try to describe his personal accident.
Step6: Practice (composition)
一次我在上学的路上从自行车上掉下来.摔断了胳膊.警察叫来了救护车,把我送到医院,医生给我做了X光照片.之后,医生告诉我卧病休息,并给了我些药。
Let the ss to write down the composition,then ask several to read 。
The Third Period
教学目标:利用目标语进行阅读实践活动。通过学习新词汇,进一步描述事故及处理方法。
教学重点:
1.词汇 clinic safety short-time long-time ambulance X-lay treatment faint nosebleed choke peanut safely fishbone stitch immediately
2.句子
(1) A fishbone got stuck in Jia Ming’s throat during lunch.
(2) After I hurt my arm , I had an X-ray.
(3) The doctor put a bandage on her arm, and she was given some medicine for the pain
(4). First aid treatment is important when an accident happens
Teaching steps:
Step 1:Revision
Let the students describe the accident happened like this:
I fell over and hurt my knee badly today. First the cut was cleaned . Next the doctor gave me some medicine and put a bandage on it . After that I was told to rest and not to walk around too much.
Step 2: Read the text and answer the questions
Let the students read the text and find out the difficult and important points.

Let the students translate the text into Chinese
Ask the students read the text again, then answer the questions
Step 3.self check
Fill in each blank with the correct word given. Change the form of the word if necessary .
Make some sentences with each word
Step 4. Write a letter
Read Nurse Smith’s notes
then finish the letter form her to Alan’s parents
Step 5. Sum up
Clean up , take home to rest, in a dangerous position , hurt oneself, during PE class , stick in, choke on, all one’s life , lie down, take one’s temperature
Step 6. Homework
Write about an accident that has happened to you . Say how it happened, and the treatment you received . Use the words ( First, then, next, after that, before, later)
The Fourth Period
1.语言目标:通过学习Section B的课文,使学生学到一些体育方面的信息,启发学生的发散思维。
教学重点及难点:
1 词汇:trap, rock, pocketknife, bleeding, mountainside, adventurer, avalanche, survive .
2 交际用语:
(1)Aron found himself in a very dangerous situation while climbing in Utah in April 2003.
(2)He had dig himself out of an avalanche.
(3)He nearly lost his life that time, but his will to survive saved him again.
教学过程
Step 1 Check the homework.
Step 2 Section 1 Before you read
By doing this practice ,students can think creatively. Divide the students into pairs. Discuss how to finish these blanks. Then check the answers in class.
Step 3 Section 2 Text study
1.Students read the text themselves, find out the answers to the questions:
What happened to Aron in April 2003
What did he do to save his life after he lay for five days
How did he stop the bleeding after he cut off his right arm
Has he had many accidents in his life
What should we learn from Aron
2.The teacher explains difficult sentences, and makes the student learn new words.
3.Students read the text after the teacher or follow the tape.
4.Students read the text aloud by themselves.
Step 4 Section3 After you read
1.Students read the text again, find out the new words and the information on physics to fill in the form in3a.
Students exchange the ideas of the information .
3b,students doing it and exchanging the ideas, then check the answers in the class.
Step 5 Section4 Go for it
Discuss these questions in groups.
2.Students check the result each other
Step 6 Practice if having time!
Get the students to discuss how to solve the problem when you are in dangerous.
Communicate the ideas each other.
Step 7 Homework:Review the Unit 7.
