This lesson is composed of four parts:
(1) Revision of the main content of Section B.
(2) Presentation of the adverbial clauses of time.
(3) Retell the story.
(4) Share their travel experiences.
3.The focus and difficult points in this lessonEnable the students to have a perfect command of the adverbial clauses of time.
(2) Enable the students to transform the language
knowledge into the ability to express themselves
and to communicate in English.Ⅱ. Teaching aims: 1. Knowledge aim:
Enable the students to master the words
and phrases:
tour, space, passage, step, push, direction, notice, out of sight, huge, beside, can’t help doing…
Ⅱ. Teaching aims: 2. Ability aims:
(1) Enable the Ss to use the adverbial clauses of
time freely and talk about their experiences.
(2) Develop the Ss’ ability of listening, speaking,
reading and writing.
(3) Develop the Ss’ ability of reading
comprehension.
3. Moral education aims:
Strengthen the Ss’ collective sense of honor and cooperative spirit by means of group competition and group discussion.
(2) Foster the students’ attitude to love

I mainly apply the direct-vision method,
the audio-vision method and the situation
method to teach my students.

I’ll apply the multi-media computer, the
recorder and other aids to arouse students’
interest in learning.
Ⅲ. Analysis of teaching and learning 3. In the whole learning process, attention
should be paid to the following two rules
of language learning:
(1) Students are asked to participate in great quantities of linguistic activities, for the linguistic acquisition is built up on the base of practice.
(2) Attention should be paid to the methods of reading comprehension.
Ⅳ. Analysis of the students The students are in Grade2. They have learned something about travel in Section A and Section B. Reading comprehension is difficult for them, especially retelling stories. So I will help the students in different levels to learn English. Try to let every student learn something from this period.
Ⅴ. Analysis of the Teaching ProcessStep1. Organization
(1) Greetings.
(2) One-minute- performance.
As usual, I have two students from each group give a short English play. The most important point is that the performance can improve the Ss’ comprehensive English ability.
Step2. Revision
1. Show some pictures of the Ming Tombs.
Revise the main content of Section B. Try to
say something about them.Step2. Revision
2. Give some questions to the Ss.
Where are the Ming Tombs?
Who could ride horses through the Sacred Way in the old
days?
When did the emperors start to build their tombs?
What place did the emperors choose for their tombs?
Choose some students to answer.Purpose:Step3. Presentation
1. Watch the video.Purpose:2. Ask Ss to give the answers. Watch and listen again if necessary.
3. Read 1a quickly and number the following pictures in the right order .

5.Get the Ss to read 1a again to find out the sentences with “when”,“after”,“as”,“as soon as”,“until”, and“while” .
6. Get the Ss to do 1b and tell them not to look at 1a, but for the Ss in low level, they can look at 1a while doing the exercises.
7. Show the difficult and important points and write them down on the Bb.

attention the pronunciation and intonation.

1. Get the Ss to Work in groups of four. Have a
discussion with each other and choose a place
to visit.
2. Each group should make a simple map of the
trip. And then fill out the form.Purpose:Step7. Homework
1. Revise this lesson.
Go over the adverbial clauses of time.
(2) Write a short story about your travel experiences and report to the class.
2. Help Darren to finish the e-mail
about his travel experience.
