TEACHING PERIOD: the first period
PROCEDURES:
1. Getting ready
put four picture cards up on the board and write the board and write the letters A,B, C and D.
T: A. I like history.
Draw a line from A to the history picture card.
Make up sentences about the other three cards.
Ask Ss to come to the board to draw lines from the letters to the pictures.
Using the book
T: let’s listen to the tape. Draw a line from the letter to the picture.
Play the tape.
2. Getting ready
Put picture cards 25-31 on the board.
T: I like history. (Circle the card.)
Ask s1 to come up to the board.
Make another sentence, e.g. I like science.
S1 circles the corresponding card.

T: match the letters to the pictures.

PROCEDURES:
1.Getting ready
Write short, Sunday and sofa on the board.
Ask s1 to come up to the board.
T: where’s the sofa
Have s1 circle the correct word.
Using the book
Point to the words and have various Ss say the words.
Ask Ss to look at the pictures.
T: now listen to the tape and choose the right word.
Play the tape and stop after each number.
Let Ss repeat the sentences and circle the key work.
T: now connect the words to the pictures.
Point to the example.
Continue with the rest of the tape.
2. Getting ready
write ce, f, w and ph the top of the board.
Also write “ ater” and “fen “and oto” and “ ork”.
Invite four Ss up and have them draw lines to match the letters and then say their words.
Using the book
T: look at the letters and match them. Then match the words to their pictures.
Put Ss in pairs to help each other.
