Step 1 Warming up
1. Greeting.
2. Guess: What’s in the zoo
3. Listen and sing the song You’re a lion.
Step 2 Presentation and drill.
1. Learn to say the number 12, Unit 12.
2. Show a bag.
T: What’s this in English
Ss: A schoolbag.
T: Yes. It’s a schoolbag. What’s in it Guess.
Ss: 铅笔.
T: Yes, it’s a pencil.
Write the word and guide to read it.
T ( show a pencil and ask ): What’s this
Ss: This is a pencil.
Write the sentences on the board and guide to read it.
3. Use the same method to teach words ruler, pen, glue… etc.
4. Ask and answer.
T: What’s this
Ss: This is a pen.

5. Close books, listen to the tape of Part A and who can repeat it phrase by phrase.
6. Open books, look, listen, read and point.
7. Ask Ss take out their stationeries and work in four a group to practice English.

S4: It’s a pencil.

Step 3 Practise
1. Game: Guess, guess, guess.
Ask a student put a stationary into a bag, let the others guess it.

Ss: Oh, it’s a/an…
Step 4 Consolidation
1. Introduce stationeries.
2. Act out the dialogue of Part A.
3. Make an assessment.
4. Set homework: Listen and read text.

1. Can understand and say words an eraser, a coin, a glue, a pencil-box, a ruler, a book, a pencil sharpener.
2. Can grasp and use the sentence pattern What’s this It’s …
3. Can understand and use words Great! Wonderful! to express the feeling of praise and surprise.

1. Vocabulary teaching.
2. Understand the dialogues of Part C and Part D, use words Great! Wonderful! to express the feeling of praise and surprise.

1. Play a guessing game.

2. Try to understand and read the story of Part D.
Step 4 Consolidation
1. Create situation and make dialogues.
Situation: 学校开展“手拉手,献爱心”活动,同学们给盲人学校的小朋友捐献文具。
