Assessment Ⅱ
Teaching Aims:
The students are required to
1. review the new words of the units from unit 7 to unit 12;
2. be able to use the sentence models that we have learned in the previous units;
3. be able to sing the English songs that appear in the previous units.
Teaching Importances:
It’s very important for the students to master well the words and sentences models that we have learned in these units.
Teaching Difficulties:
It’s difficult for students to speak English well.
Teaching Aids:
Courseware, word cards,etc.
Teaching steps:
Ⅰ Warm-up
T: hello! Boys and girls! Long time no see! How are you doing these days
Ss: good morning, sir/ madame. We are fine.
T: is there anyone who would like to share your happiness or interests with us
S1: yes, I’d like to. Some days ago, I wnt to swim with my parents. It was so funny. At first, I couldn’t swim. But later, my father teached me and I learned to swim. It was really funny. We swam for almost three hours. I was so happy.
T: that’s really intersting. It’s not only funny, it’s also good for our health. So I suggest you guys go to swim when you are free. But do remember you have to go with your parents. Never go by yourselves, cause it’s dangerous. Ok. Now let’s begin our class.
Ⅱ Presentation and Drill
1. Review the words
T: today we are gonna review the knowledge we have learned in the previous units. Ok. First of all, we have a look the new words we have learned. I divided it into a few parts.( write it on the blackboard) can anyone give me some examples for each part
S1: yes, I can. For house, we learned kitchen, window, hall, toilet…
S2: for people, we learned policemen, police woman, police, soldiers…
S3: for verbs, we learned jump, run, throw, swim, paint…
S4: for pictures we learned painting, photo, album…
……
T: ok. That’s great. Now let’s review it through the courseware.(show those words on the screen one by one with pictures.)
2. Review the sentence models
T: ok. Just now, we had a review of the words we have learned in these units. Now, do you remember, besides those words, what else did we learn
Ss: new sentence models.
T: right. Now would any volunteer tell us some of them
S5: yes, I would like to. We learned the sentence which is used for enquiring the place: where is …. For example, where is the cat
S6: also, we learned the sentence that is used for enquiring somebody’s occupation. Are you a driver
S7: what’s more. We also learned the sentence that is used for asking others for help: can you help me
……
T: good job! Now let’s review them one by one through the PPT.
3. Review the song
T: now, let’s have fun. Sing the songs.
