Unit 13 your plate is orange and grey
Teaching Aims:
The students are required to
1. master the new words of this unit, such as grey, orange, plate, etc.;
2. be able to use the new sentence models fluently in daily life,such as “what colour is your plate ”;
3. be able to sing the English song.
Teaching Importances:
It’s very important for the students to learn the new words and the new sentences models well.
Teaching Difficulties:
It’s difficult for students to speak English well and to remember all these new words..

Teaching steps:
Ⅰ Warm-up
T: good morning/ good afternoon.
Ss: good morning/ good afternoon.
T: How is the meal( breakfast or lunch)
Ss: great.
T: would anyone like to tell us what you had for you lunch/breakfast
S1: I’d like to. I had some noodles.
S2: I had some dumplings.
S3: I had some bread.
S4: I had some rice and meat. It’s very delicious. I like it very much.
S5: I had some cakes.
……
T: wow, that’s wonderful. Do you know what I had Hahh. I had some sandwichs. Having a good meal is very important for our health. We all have to a healthy diet. Ok. So much about this. Let’s move on to our new classes.
Ⅱ Presentation and Drill
1. words learning
T: look at this! What is it ( holding a plate in the hand and showing it to the students)
Ss: it's a plate.
T: what colour is it
Ss: it’s red.
T: how about this one ( holding another plate in the hand)
Ss: it’s white.
T:yeah. Ok. Besides these colours, do you any other colours In Chinese or English is ok.
Ss: 黄色,黑色,紫色,灰色,黑色……
T: that’s right. Now let’s learn these colours one bye one. ( teach the colour word one by one through the computer.)
T: ok. That’s enough. Now, I have a question for you boys and girls. What do we usually use when we are eating somgthing
Ss: 碗,筷子,盘子…..
T: right, now, we’ll learn these words. ( show the words plate, bowl, chopstick with pictures on the screen and teach students these words)
2. sentence learning
T: now, I have another question for you. when you want to know the colour of something, how do you express yourself
Ss: I want to know the colour of it. Can you tell me the colour of it Is it blue ......
T: you are all right. But I’ve got another way for you. that is “what’s the colour of …”. So if you want to know the colour of this plate, how shoulf you express yourselves
S1: what’s the colour of this plate
T: very good. Then how about a bowl
S2: what’s the colour of the bowl
T: right. Then how about a ….
