3. To help the students stimulate the passion of travelling and inspire patriotic emotion.

四、Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead-in
Lead in the topic “Around the World in Eight Hours” by watching a MV.
Step 2 Pre-reading
Present the following new words
tour guide, icon, Africa, America, Europe, Africa, at the top /bottom of
Wall street, Times square, Central Park, Broadway.
Step 3 While–reading
1. Skimming
Skim the passage and answer the following two questions:
⑴ Where do we visit following the guide?
⑵ How many places are mentioned? What are they?
2. Scanning
(1) Read the text quickly and match their main ideas for each part.
Para 1 a. How to visit another city
Para 2-6 b. How to travel around the world in eight hours
Para 7 c. Some places of interest in New York
(2) Read Para 2-6 and find out what we can see in New York
3. Detailed reading.
(1) Ask the students to read Para 1 and fill in the blanks.

(二)教学反思
Reading课是每个单元的重要组成部分,八下Unit3 Online tours所选的阅读材料Around the World in Eight Hours.学生非常感兴趣. 由如何访问网页环游世界导入去纽约的旅行,介绍纽约的四个名胜.华尔街,时报广场,中央公园,百老汇,所以以歌曲Memory和许多名胜的图片来导入, 学生还是比较感兴趣,反映较好,然后依次对四大名胜稍作介绍,并配以本班学生的照片,让学生感到非常亲切,一下子和课文内容拉近了距离. 呈现部分重要生词.在充分展示了四大名胜美景的基础上,学生已经很迫不及待地想去旅行了.所以此时让学生浏览课文已经水到渠成.所以我觉得对本节课前面的导入还是比较满意.接着是运用不同的阅读方法让学生阅读,理解课文,找到信息.也是本节课的重头戏,在这部分过程中,先让学生带着问题到文章中找,回答浅层问题。接着让学生大声朗读,理解文章可以分为几个部分。大声朗读,可以帮助学生很快形成语感,更深刻地理解文章内涵.第三针对各部分再提出一些主要的细节问题.最后旅行完一个城市,如何去下个城市旅行.激起学生的旅游热情.
在第二部分阅读课的重头戏的过程中,我忽视了以下几个问题:1.没有重视默读的好处, 其实第一遍应该默读,因为默读能提高学生的阅读速度,加快主要信息捕捉能力。本节课中我没有注意到这个问题, 所以在以后的教学过程中一定要高度重视. 2.让学生整齐划一地跟录音机一起读,忽视了学生阅读速度有快有慢的不同层次.3.就本节课而言,最后让学生讨论复述四个名胜的时间稍多,而导致结尾有点匆忙.所以How to start a new tour? 就很快地一带而过了,展示下一个城市的美景也没有足够的时间,显得有点草率结尾.4.更重要的是个别单词的读音还要读准,英语本身就是语言交流,所以在以后的教学过程中,要不断加强学习,多接受专家老师的指导,加强对自身素质的提高,对课堂的灵活驾驭能力, 激发学生课堂的参与热情.并且要多锻炼,多上研讨课.以便及时找出自身存在的缺点和不足,而不是闭门造车.此次研讨课让我受益匪浅,
