(一)教学设计
一、Teaching aims:
1. To read the article again and understand it better;
2. To be able to retell the passage and introduce how to make an online tour of New York;
3. To master the usage of some important phrases, such as at the top/bottom of, it is + adj. + (for sb.) + to do sth. , see sb. doing sth. , be famous for……, and so on;
4. To write a short passage about an online tour of Beijing with the help of pictures and key words on the screen and encourage students to travel around the world and enjoy themselves.

Step 1 Revision
1. Answer two questions according to the text with the help of some pictures of places of interest in New York.
Q1: Which city did we visit on the website in the last lesson?
Q2: What places in that city did we visit?
2. Complete a short passage with some words in the text.
Step 2 Language points
1. Learn the usage of “at the top of”, “at the top of”,
Ask students the following question: “Can you tell me how to start an online tour?” to lead in sentence 1; ask students another question: “But if I don’t want to visit New York, what should I do?” to lead in sentence 2. Then explain them.
Sentence 1: Have you noticed the “Tour” icon at the top of the page?
Sentence 2: There’s a “Back” icon at the top of the page.

2. Understand and learn to use “It is + adj. + (for sb.) + to do sth.” and “see sb. doing sth.”.
Set a situation for students: “My friend and I both like shopping. So we want to go to Times Square. There are so many people here on New Year’s Eve. Do you know why?”

(二)教学反思
我在实验初中初二(14)班进行了一次公开课教学,教学内容是8B Unit3 Reading的第二课时教学。整节课结束后,从课堂效果来看,我认为有几个方面仍待改进。
导入部分内容不充实。
导入部分的目的是让学生能够有效地复习第一课时的内容,为语言点的讲解提供一定的背景。但这一环节我设计的问题太少,只有两个: “Which city did we visit on the website in the last lesson?”和 “What places in that city did we visit?” 因此学生在该环节没有得到充分的训练。如果能够针对纽约的四个地方利用关键词或者问答分别进行更详细地复述,学生应该能更好地进入状态。
语言点讲解实例不充分。
在语言点的讲解过程中,我给学生呈现了1到2个句子让学生概括其用法及意义。个人认为这一部分给出的实例还太少。学生从少量的句子中摸索规律还比较困难。所以我认为在语言点讲解中可以多呈现几个与学生贴近的实例,以便学生更好地进行总结概括。
词组翻译目的不明确。
因为这件课涉及的新单词较多,所以我设置了词组翻译这个环节,目的是让学生能够进一步巩固和掌握一些固定搭配及习惯表达。并且在这个资源整合的基础上来为下一步的写作进行铺垫。但在学生的写作过程中,我发现有部分学生未能很好地利用这些词组。所以我认为我在这个环节的引导还不够,没有引导学生进行有效地运用。学生仅把它当作了单一的词组翻译,而没有提高到运用的层面。
写作指导重点有偏差。
最后一部分的写作,是让学生根据课文内容进行一次仿写,写北京的几个名胜。学生写下来的情况我个人认为还可以,但他们都有一个问题,就是对文章结构的把握不到位。我应该指导他们注意文章中各部分的连接,并能灵活地把这种连接运用到自己的写作中,这样就能为作文锦上添花了。
总的来说,在蒋老师及各位同仁的指导下,我从这节课中学到了很多东西,收获颇丰。
