Objectives
1. Understand and read the dialogue.
2. Further practice and reinforcement of animal vocabulary.
3. To develop the pupils’ use of descriptive adjective. E.g. funny, lovely…
Language Focuses
1. Words: rule, Africa, kill
2. Structure: Why not
They are +adj.
Don’t + verb.
Materials Needed
Computer, pictures, CD—Rom, word cards
Procedures
Activity 1: Free talk (Talk about the animals.)
How many animals do you know
What are they
What is your favorite animal
Activity 2: Present a picture (some monkeys)
E.g. my favorite animal is monkey.
Look at the monkeys.
They are running and jumping. They are funny.
They are lovely. But don’t give them your bananas.
Activity 3: Present a picture (a lion)
E.g. my favorite animal is lion.
Look at the lion. It’s strong and dangerous.
It’s beautiful. But don’t go too near.
Activity 4: Ask the pupils to show their pictures of animals.
And then talk about their favorite animals in groups.
Activity 5: Ask the group members to come out and talk about their favorite animals.
Activity 6: Teacher: Animals are our good friends. We should protect them. Don’t feed the animals in the zoo.
Pupils: Why not
Teacher: It is the zoo rules.
Learn language focus: Don’t + verb.
Why not Rule
Activity 7: Panda is our national treasure. Do you know
Where are the pandas from They are from China.
Learn: Where is the lion from It is from Africa.
Writing on the blackboard: Africa, kill
Activity 8: Now, let’s go to visit the zoo.
Listen and look carefully. And then answer the questions.

Activity 9: Answer the questions.
Activity 10: Look and Listen to the dialogue two times.
Activity 11: Read the dialogue after the computer.
Activity 12: Read the dialogue in groups.
Activity 13: Read the dialogue in different roles.
Activity 14: Homework:
① Look and Listen to the dialogue.
② Copy the new words.
③ Write down a dialogue about your favorite animals as the model.
