B
I’ve
been
really
lucky
this
year.
Not
only
did
I
have
the
opportunity
to
live
in
France,
but
I
was
able
to
see
some
other
countries
with
my
girlfriend.
Now
she
is
studying
in
Essen,
a
large
city
in
Western
Germany.
I
recently
went
to
stay
with
her
—it
was
my
first
visit
to
Germany!
Essen
is
a
very
large
city.
It
has
all
the
conveniences
of
any
large
city
so
I
felt
immediately
at
home.
I
love
the
variety
of
shops,
restaurants,
shopping
malls,
cocktail
bars,
nightclubs,
parks
and
even
a
lake.
There
is
also
a
city-wide
network
of
trams,
which
makes
getting
around
a
piece
of
cake!
I
found
the
people
to
be
really
friendly,
and
most
Germans
speak
very
good
English,
which
made
life
easy
for
me.
I
was
surprised
by
the
casual
attitude
to
alcohol
in
Germany,
where
it
seems
normal
for
people
to
drink
beet
on
the
street,
or
on
the
tram.
My
girlfriend
and
I
visited
two
famous
local
cities,
Dusseldorf
and
Cologne,
which
are
both
on
the
Rhine
River.
Dusseldorf
is
an
urban
metropolis
with
a
great
variety
of
restaurants.
We
took
a
boat
tour
on
the
river
and
went
up
the
Rhine
tower,
a
really
tall
building
which
offers
great
views
across
the
city.
Cologne,
as
you
might
know,
is
world
famous
for
its
perfumes.
We
made
the
effort
to
climb
to
the
top
of
one
of
the
Cologne’s
tower.
The
stairs
seemed
endless,
but
it
was
worthwhile
for
the
impressive
sights
from
the
top.
We
also
wend
in
a
cable
car
over
the
river
and
tasted
a
German
delicacy
called
“Spaghettieis”
which
is
ice
cream
with
strawberry
sauce!
I
also
got
to
try
the
famous
German
sausage.
I
must
admit,
I
really
enjoyed
the
food!
The
only
disappointment
was
the
grey
and
rainy
weather,
which
proves
that
Britain
does
not
have
the
worst
weather
in
Europe!

do
Dusseldorf
and
Cologne
have
in

famous
for
unique
perfumes.

from
the

passage
A.An

Germany.
D.A
brief
introduction
to
Germany.
C
If
you
see
a
group
of
kids
hitting
and
abusing(虐待)an
animal,would
you
stop
them Would
you
at
least
call
the
police Again
people
would
walk
away.Some
people
do
not
believe
that
animal
abuse
is
a
big
problem
compared
with
key
issues
such
as
global
warming.
Every
day
animals
are
abused
in
their
homes
or
on
the
streets.
It
seems
as
if
politicians
do
nothing
to
stop
this
issues.
Everyone
is
worried
about
education
and
global
warming.
What
about
animals
We
should
not
ignore
them
just
because
they
cannot
talk
to
us.
Animals,
like
us
humans,
have
rights.
Every
living
being
has
the
right
to
warm
shelter
and
good
food,
but
most
importantly,
they
have
the
right
to
be
wanted
and
loved.
They
have
the
right
to
be
a
special,
much
loved
member
of
their
own
family.
There
are
many
organizations
that
deal
with
abused
animals
or
animals
that
have
no
home
like
PETA,
the
Humane
Society,
ASPCA
and
many
more.
There
are
organization
that
deal
with
this
problems,
but
that
does
not
mean
that
we
still
shouldn’t
help.
The
biggest
saying
that
bothers
me
is,“I
am
only
one
persons.
I
can’t
make
a
difference.”If
everyone
thought
like
that,
we
wouldn’t
have
the
organizations
and
loving
people
who
help
the
world
every
day.
By
helping
one
animal,
you
are
making
a
difference.
There
are
many
things
you
can
do
right
now
to
help
animals
around
your
neighborhood.
You
can
volunteer
at
your
local
animal
shelter,
raise
money
for
animal
shelters,
inform
your
community
about
animal
abuse
or
you
can
write
to
your
representatives
and
tell
them
that
animal
abuse
needs
to
be
taken
seriously.
As
you
walk
down
the
street,
try
to
help
any
animals
you
see
walking
around.
You
can
easily
buy
a
cheap
box
of
dry
cat
or
dog
food
to
feed
the
animals.
If
we
do
not
help
our
animals
now.
we
may
never
have
animals
again.
Always
remember
that
with
every
step
you
take,you
help
save
an
animal’s
life
and
isn’t
that
worthwhile
28.Some
people
won’t
stop
kids
from
abusing
animals
because

are
too
busy
to
worry
about
the
animals
B.they
are
afraid
of
being
laughed
at
C.they
just
leave
it
to
the
police
D.they
don’t
take
animals
abuse
seriously
29.We
can
learn
from
the
text
that
ASPCA
.
A.is
another
name
for
the
Humane
Society

animals
from
being
abused
C.deals
with
such
problems
as
education
and
global
warming
D.provides

for
both
animals
and

of
the
following
statements
will
the

to
animals
deserves
more
attention
than
global
warming.
B.One
person
cannot
possibly
make
a
difference.
C.It
is
the
politician’s
duty
to
stop
animals
abuse.
D.Dogs
have
the
right
to
be
treated
kindly.
31.The
main
purpose
of
the
text
is
to
.
A.criticize
those
who
abuse
animals
B.advise
people
to
stop
animals
abuse
C.show
how
animals
are
abused
D.explain
why
people
abuse
animals
D
People
need
to
find
new
foods
because
the
world
has
so
many
mouths
to
feed.
As
of2015,
there
are
more
than
seven
billion
people
on
Earth,
according
to
the
United
Nations.
And
by
2010
that
number
may
double.
Feeding
all
of
these
people
means
not
only
improving
the
way
food
is
grown,
but
also
finding
new
sources
of
nutrition.
And
that
quest
is
becoming
ever
more
urgent.
If
nothing
changes,
within
35
years,
the
world’s
need
for
food
will
be
greater
than
the
amount
of
food
produced.
That’s
according
to
a
report
released
last
year.
It
was
prepared
by
the
Global
Harvest
Initiative,
a
private
agriculture
group
based
in
Washington,D.C.
Global
warming,
too,
is
changing
food
production.
Scientists
predict
that
rising
temperatures
will
reduce
the
growth
of
important
corp
like
wheat,
corn
and
soybeans,
Low-income
developing
countries
will
be
hit
the
hardest.
When
harvests
fall,
crops
become
more
expensive.
And
since
those
foods
are
also
used
to
feed
animals
like
cows
and
pigs,
meat
prices,
too,
will
rise.
The
higher
the
price
is,
the
harder
it
is
for
the
countries
to
survive.
All
over
the
world,
researchers
are
doing
more
food
researches
to
figure
out
how
best
to
feed
more
people
in
a
fast-changing
world.
And
some
surprising
ideas
have
begun
to
come
up.
Two
years
ago,
scientists
introduced
the
first
hamburger
made
from
meat
grown
in
a
lab.
The
project
cost
more
than
$
300,000,
but
it’s
a
start.
Other
researchers
are
developing
seeds
that
can
survive
high
temperatures
and
drought.
Still
others
are
finding
ways
to
improve
the
genes
of
meat
animals
so
they
produce
more
meat
and
can
stand
the
heat.
A
gloomy(悲观)forecast
for
the
planet
isn’t
the
only
reason
to
study
foods
for
the
future.
It’s
a
creative
quest
that
will
encourage
people
who
can
think
in
new
ways
about
existing
plants
and
animals
——
even
insects.
These
researchers
have
used
their
talents
in
ways
that
even
they
never
would
have
predicted.
32.What
do
the
underlined
words
“that
quest”
in

A.The

of
new
foods.
B.The
increase
of

33.How
does
global
warming
affect
low-income
developing
countries
a.Increase
meat
prices.

the
temperature.
c.Reduce
the
growth
of
crops.
d.Lead

with
you.
37
Eyes
do
speak,right
Looking
too
long
at
someone
may
seem
to
be
rude
and
aggressive.
38
If
a
man
stares
at
a
woman
for
more
than
10
seconds
and
refuses
to
look
away
from
her,
his
purposes
are
obvious.
He
wishes
to
attract
her
attention
and
let
her
know
that
he
is
admiring
her.
However,
when
two
people
are
in
a
conversation,
the
speaker
will
only
look
into
the
listener’s
eyes
from
time
to
time
to
make
sure
that
the
listener
dose
pay
attention
to
what
the
former
is
speaking.
39
If
a
speaker
looks
at
you
continuously
when
speaking
as
if
trying
to
control
you,
you
will
feel
awkward.
A
poor
liar
usually
exposes
himself
by
looking
too
long
at
the
victim.He
wrongly
believes
that
looking
straight
in
the
eyes
is
a
sign
of
honest
communication.
40
Actually,
eye
contact
should
be
made
based
on
specific
relationships
and
situations.
A.On
the
contrary,
it
will
give
him
away.
B.Do
you
have
such
kind
of
experience
C.That’s
what
normal
eye
contact
is
all
about.
D.Actually,
continuous
eye
contact
is
limited
to
lovers
only.
E.After
all,
nobody
likes
to
be
stared
at
for
quite
a
long
time.
F.But
things
are
different
when
it
comes
to
staring
the
opposite
sex.
G.If
nothing
goes
wrong,
you
will
feel
annoyed
at
being
stared
at
that
way.

英语知识运用(共两节,满分45分)
第一节
完形填空(共20小题,每小题1.5分,满分30分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后所给各题的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。
I
remember
as
a
small
child
people
would
often
ask
me,
“What
are
you
going
to
be
when
you
grow
up ”
Well,
it
41
being
a
cowboy
or
some
superhero.
Later
it
was
a
fireman,
a
policeman,
a
lawyer...
As
I
grew
older
my
dreams
for
the
future
42
.When,
at
last,
I
was
in
college,
I
had
my
43
set
on
becoming
a
preacher(牧师)like
my
father,
44
I
studied
and
prepared
for
that
life.
I
achieved
the
45
in
the
end
I
was
preaching
46
full
time
for
much
of
my
adult
life.
However,
for
many,there
is
a
“thief”
that
goes
around
stealing
our
47
.
Sometimes,
the
thief
will
come
as
a
parent,a
relative,or
a
friend,but
the
48
thief
is
usually
ourselves.
We
fine
ourselves
just
about
49
the
top,
and
a
“small”
voice
insides
says,
“You’ll
never
make
it.”
“You
50
not
possibly
do
this.”
On
and
on
the
“small”
voice
51
our
failure.
Failure,though,is
exactly
how
dreams
are
52
.It
is
one
of
the
most
important
tools
we
have
because
it
teaches
us
precious
53
.
When
we
learn
these
lessons
well,
we
are
54
for
success.
The
message
I
always
gave
my
children
was
that
you
55
do
anything
your
heart
desires.
Remember
the
saying,

56
is
impossible
to
a
willing
heart.”
There
are
57
“overnight”
successes,
but
with
determination,
they
will
come.
Imagine
yourself
in
the
life
you
dream
of
58
.Then
in
your
heart,
59
it
will
happen
to
you.
Then
work,work,work.
You’ll
get
the
picture.
So,
be
true
to
your
dream,
and
don’t
let
anyone
60
it
from
you-especially
yourself.

W:
Well,
I

to

I

two
apple
pies
last
night,
but
I
tasted
one
of
them
this

and
it
didn't

M:
You'd
better
make
the
pies
over
again
if
you
don't
want
Steve's
parents
to
make
faces
over
the
dessert.
W:
Oh,
they
wouldn't
do
that.They're
too
polite.
They
would
just
make
as
if
nothing
was
wrong
and
then
complain
to
Steve
about
it
later.
M:
Look!
Why
don't
you
just
offer
some
fresh
fruit
and
cheese
for
dessert
Steve's
parents
would
probably
like
a
healthy
dessert.

Hi
and
welcome
to
UP
For
It,
the
radio
program
for
people
with
a
taste
for
travel
and
adventure.
First
up
this
week—our
competition.
Blue
Yonder
Travel
Company
is
offering
two
lucky
people
the
chance
of
an
all-expenses-paid
journey
across
Europe.
The
winners
will
travel
the
whole
journey
over
land
or
water:
that
means
by
train,
bus,
ship,
and
even
on
horseback.
But
no
planes!
Now,
how
to
enter
the
competition.
We
want
you
to
write
a
story
entitled
Holiday
Adventure,
and
it
must
be
about
a
difficult
but
entertaining
journey
anywhere
in
the
world.
Your
story
can
be
fiction
or
non-fiction,
so
don't
worry
if
you've
never
traveled
any
further
than
the
next
town:
you
can
use
your
imagination.Your
story
should
be
between
800
and
1,000
words
long.
And
it
must
be
all
your
own
work.
That's
very
important.
The
closing
date
for
entries
is
October
15th.
We
will
announce
the
results
at
the
end
of
November!
Please
write
your
