小明告诉我他昨天在阳光书店给我买了一本书.
Xiao Ming said to me, “I bought a book for you in Yang Guang Book Store yesterday.”
Xiao Ming told me that he had bought a book for me in Yang Guang Book Store the day before.
我问他:“这本书多少钱?”
我问他那本书多少钱.
I asked him,“ how much is this book?”
I asked him how much that book was.
他说:“十元。”
他说那本书十元钱.
He said, “it is 10 yuan.”
He said that it was 10 yuan.
然后他问我:“你喜欢这本书吗?”
然后他问我是否喜欢那本书.
Then he asked me, “do you like this book?”
Then he asked me if/whether I liked that book.我对他说:“喜欢.”
我告诉他我喜欢那本书.
I said to him, “yes, I like it.”
I told him that I liked it.Xiao Ming said to me, “I bought a book for you in Yang Guang Book Store yesterday.”

I asked him how much that book was.He said, “it is 10 yuan.”

Xiao Ming told me that he had bought a book for me in Yang Guang Book Store the day before.Changes in sentence patterns1.If the sentence in direct speech is a statement(陈述句), it should be turned into a clause(从句) led by “that” in indirect speech.I asked him,“ how much is this book?”
I asked him how much that book was.2. If the sentence in direct speech is a wh-question(特殊疑问句), it should be turned into a clause led by ”wh-pron(特殊疑问词)” in indirect speech.Then he asked me, “do you like this book?”
Then he asked me if/whether I liked that book.3. If the sentence in direct speech is a “yes/no-question
(一般疑问句)”, it should be turned into a clause
led by “if/whether”.Changes in tensesXiao Ming said to me,“I bought a book for you in… yesterday.”

He asked me what was the matter.Step III. Exercises: try to change direct speech into indirect speech
Mr. Wang said,“ I will leave for Shanghai on business next month, children.”
