Teaching procedure.
一、 Organization
1. Greetings.
How are you What’s your name
What day is it today What’s the weather like today
二、Revision
1. Look at the slide show and ask. Answer the questions in pairs.
Qs: How are you today When is your birthday
Where were you last Sunday
Who is the tallest in your family
3. Watch TV: Listen to them carefully. What are they saying
三、 Presentation.
1. Learning how to say greetings and goodbyes.
Meet a friend for the first time:
Nice to meet you. How do you do How do you do
Meet your classmates or your relatives:
That’ll say. How are you Nice to see you.
2. Take out the English Book. Turn to page 9. Part E. Choose the suitable expressions from the bubbles.
3. Show out a toy car and say:
T: Look. This is a car. I made it myself repeat. Myself (write it on the Bb) I cook breakfast myself.
4. Ask the pupils to make the sentences with the drills. I… by myself. (Practice with helps)
Then retell what did they say and learn the new words. (Write them on the Bb)
S1: I make the bed myself.
T: You make the bed yourself.
S2: I go to school myself.
T: Li Hong goes to school himself.
S3: I wash my clothes myself.
T: Mei Mei washes her clothes herself.
S4: I wash my clothes myself too.
T: Oh. They wash clothes themselves. Good girls. And we must do our things by ourselves. For example, we cleaned the classroom ourselves.
T: Now, Look. There are a lot of fruits. Help yourselves. (Repeat it)

四、 Practice.
1. Read the diary together. Read the diary by oneself.
2. T: Grandpa and Grandma had presents for everybody. Let’s see what are they listen to the tape. And tick what are the presents.

3. Read the dialogue after the teacher.

Read the dialogue by groups. Then answer the questions:

4. Divide the pupils into several groups. There are five pupils in each group perform the dialogue.
(Ask some groups to come to the Bb and perform the dialogue.)

T: Today. We’ve learned how to write the diary. And we met Tom’s grandparents. They’re strong and hard working.

六、 Homework.
