There
was
once
a
captain
who
loved
money
so
much
that
he
cheated
his
sailors
at
the
end
of
every
voyage
and
took
their
wages.
On
the
last
day
of
one
voyage,
the
ship
was
in
a
small
port.
It
was
winter
time,
and
the
sea
was
very
cold,
so
the
captain
said
to
his
sailors,
“If
one
of
you
stays
in
the
water
during
the
whole
night,
I
will
give
him
my
ship.
But
if
he
comes
out
before
the
sun
appears,
I
shall
get
his
wages.”
The
sailors
had
heard
about
the
captain’s
cheating,
so
they
didn’t
trust
him.
But
then
one
of
them,
who
thought
that
he
was
cleverer
than
the
captain,
said
that
he
would
do
it.
He
got
into
the
water,
and,
though
it
was
very
cold,
he
stayed
in
it.
When
it
was
nearly
morning,
some
fishermen
lit
a
fire
on
the
shore
about
half
a
mile
away.
“You
are
cheating,”
the

said
to
the

“The
fire’s

you.”
“But
it’s
half
a
mile
away!”
said
the
sailor.
“A
fire’s
fire,”
answered
the
captain.
“I
have
won.”
The
sailor
came
out
of
the
water,
and
said,
“Perhaps
you
think
that
you
are
clever
because
you
have
won
my
wages,
but
you
can’t
cook
a
chicken.”
“I
can,”
answered
the
captain.
“If
you
cook
this
chicken,”
said
the
sailor,
“I
shall
work
for
you
without
wages
for
seven
years,
but
if
you
can’t,
you
will
give
me
your
ship.”
The
captain
agreed,
took
the
chicken
and
said,
“Where’s
the
fire ”
“There
it
is,”
answered
the
sailor.
“On
the
shore.”
“But
it’s
half
a
mile
away,”
said
the
captain
angrily.
“A
fire’s
fire,’
you
said,”
answered
the
sailor.
“If
it
is
enough
to
warm
me
in
the
water,
it
is
enough
to
cook
your
chicken.”

Even
a
child
knows
that
nodding
(点头)
the
head
means
“Yes”.
But
some
people
will
probably
be
puzzled
when
they
first
come
to
India.
When
they
talk
to
an
Indian,
he
often
shakes
his
head.
They
might
think
that
the
Indian
does
not
like
what
he
said,
but
on
the
contrary,
he
is
expressing
agreement.
The
Indians
have
a
habit
of
shaking
their
heads
slightly
when
they
talk
to
somebody.
It
doesn’t
mean
“No”,
but
“Yes”.
If
a
person
doesn’t
know
this,
it
might
cause
misunderstanding.
At
one
time
a
foreigner
in
India
told
his
driver
who
was
an
Indian
to
take
him
to
his
office.
The
driver
shook
his
head.
The
foreigner
repeated
his
request
and
the
driver
shook
his
head
again.
At
last,
the
foreigner
shouted
angrily,
“Drive
me
to
my
office
at
once!”
The
driver
said
in
a
low
voice,
“Yes,
sir,”
smiling
and
shaking
his
head
again
at
the
same
time.
8.
Generally
speaking,
nodding
the
head
means
______,
and
shaking
the
head
means
_______.
A.
Yes,
No
B.
No,
Yes
C.
Yes,
Yes
D.
No,
No
9.
Why
did
the
Indian
driver
shake
his
head
when
the
foreigner
asked
him
to
drive
him
to
his
office
Because
_______.
A.
In
India
shaking
the
head
means
agreement
B.
the
foreigner
promised
to
give
him
only
a
little
money
C.
the
Indian
driver
has
something
important
to
do
D.
The
driver
felt
uncomfortable
at
that
time
10.
Why
did
the
foreigner
become
angry
Because
_______.
A.
the
Indian
driver
didn’t
want
to
send
him
to
his
office
B.
He
misunderstood
the
meaning
of
shaking
the
head
in
India
C.
he
asked
the
driver
to
send
him
to
his
office,
but
the
India
driver
didn’t
say
any
words
D.
the
Indian
driver
asked
him
for
a
lot
of
money
11.
The
underlined
phrase
“on
the
contrary”
means
_______.
A.
on
the
other
hand
B.
clear
difference
between
two
things
C.
just
the
opposite
D.
doing
what
you
want
to
do
D
To
me,
life
without
music
would
not
be
exciting.
I
realize
that
this
is
not
true
for
everybody.
Many
people
get
along
quite
well
without
going
to
the
concert,
or
listening
to
the
record.
But
music
plays
an
important
part
in
everyone’
life,
whether
he
realizes
it
or
not.
Try
to
imagine,
for
example,
what
films
or
TV
plays
would
be
like
without
music.
Would
the
feelings,
the
moving
plot,
and
the
greatest
interests,
be
so
exciting
or
dramatic
I’m
not
sure
about
it.
Now,
we
have
been
speaking
of
music
in
its
more
common
meaning
----
the
kind
of
music
we
hear
in
the
concert
hall.
But
if
we
look
at
some
parts
of
music
more
closely,
we
discover
them
in
our
everyday
life
too
----
in
the
rhythm
of
the
sea,
the
singing
of
a
bird
in
the
woods
and
so
on.
So
music
surely
has
meaning
for
everyone,
in
some
way
or
other.
And,
of
course,
it
has
special
meaning
for
those
who
have
spent
all
their
lives
working
on
playing
or
writing
music.
It
is
well
said,
“Through
music
a
child
enters
into
a
world
of
beauty,
expresses
himself
from
his
heart,
feels
the
joy
of
doing
things
alone,
learns
to
take
care
of
others,
develops
his
mind
and
makes
his
body
strong.”
12.
What
does
the
writer
say
more
about
in
the
text
A.
Life
full
of
music.
B.
Life
without
music.
C.
The
development
of
music.
D.
The
importance
of
music.
13.
From
the
text,
we
learn
that
many
people________.
A.
think
music
would
be
less
exciting
than
films
B.
get
along
quite
well
without
music
C.
go
to
the
concert
instead
of
enjoying
music
D.
don’t
realize
the
importance
of
music
14.
From
the
last
paragraph,
we
learn
that
music________.
A.
can
make
our
life
exciting
and
dramatic
B.
is
very
necessary
for
our
everyday
life
C.
is
very
important,
especially
for
children
D.
can
enter
into
another
beautiful
world
15.
What’s
the
meaning
for
those
who
work
on
playing
or
writing
music
A.
They
regard
music
as
part
of
their
life.
B.
They
treat
music
as
their
life.

don’t
think
music
is

第二节(共5小题;每小题3分,满分15分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
It’s
important
to
prepare
for
rainy
days.
Similarly,
it’s
important
to
save
money.
16
Why
It’s
because
they’ve
got
used
to
spending
all
the
money
they
make.
Sometimes,
the
hardest
thing
about
saving
money
is
just
getting
started.
Here
are
some
tips
to
help
you
save
money.
17
The
first
step
in
saving
money
is
to
know
how
much
you’re
spending.
For
one
month,
keep
a
record
of
everything
you
spend
money
on.
Once
you
have
your
data,
organize
these
numbers
by
category
(类别)
and
get
the
total
amount
for
each.
You
can
make
a
budget
(预算).
Now
that
you
have
a
good
idea
of
how
much
you
spend
in
a
month,
what
can
you
do
now
18
To
plan
your
spending,
you
can
build
a
budget.
In
this
way,
you
can
limit
over-spending
and
make
sure
that
you
put
money
away
for
unexpected
situations.
19
Doing
so
makes
it
much
easier
to
get
started.
Begin
by
deciding
how
long
it
will
take
to
reach
each
goal.
Some
short-term
goals
include
starting
a
fund
to
cover
6
months
to
a
year
of
living
costs
and
saving
money
for
a
vacation.
Long-term
saving
goals
are
often
several
years
or
even
decades
away
and
can
include
saving
for
retirement
and
putting
money
away
for
a
child’s
college
education.
Make
saving
money
easier
with
automatic
transfers
(自动转帐).
Automatic
transfers
to
your
savings
account
are
very
helpful.
20
By
moving
money
out
of
your
checking
account,
you’ll
be
less
likely
to
spend
money
you
plan
to
use
for
savings.
A.
You
can
plan
your
spending.
B.
However,
some
people
find
it
hard
to
save
money.
C.
You
can
set
savings
goals.
D.
You
can
keep
a
record
of
what
you
do.
E.
They
can
make
saving
money
much
easier.
F.
You
can
record
your
costs.
G.
You
can
move
money
out
of
your
savings
account.

My

Among

Grandmother
considered
them
the

the

During
the

I
went
to
the
bathroom.
I
was
still
sitting
down
when
the

walked
in.
“You

“It’s

Don’t

I

Then
she

Most

Grandmother.
She

Grandmother

All
the

watched

Grandmother

Everyone

Grandmother

Version
Friends
are
very
important
to
us.
When
in
trouble
we
need
friends
to
offer
us
encouragement
and
help.
When
we
are
successful,
we
need
friends
to
share
our
joys.
It’s
hard
to
imagine
life
without
friends.
We
should
make
as
many
friends
as
we
can.
The
more
friends
we
have,
the
more
meaningful
our
life
will
be.
A
country
needs
friends
too.
China
today,
for
example,
has
friends
all
over
the
world,
and
she
is
certain
to
make
more
friends
in
the
future.
However,
real
friends
are
not
easy
to
find.
Please
value
your
friendship.
It
is
easier
to
lose
than
to
get.
