I hope this postcard/message finds you well.
It’s three o'clock in the morning, and I'm in the middle of nowhere in this Qinghai plateau. WW is sleeping like a baby in her tent, but I'm wide awake, maybe because I’m exhausted after a whole day’s cycling. So here I am, resting on my back on the grass, with nothing but the stars overhead and the campfire for company.
It's been a long day. It was hard work cycling in and up the mountains, but the beautiful views just made everything worthwhile. The cold mountains, the winding roads, the blue skies, the roaming clouds... held me spellbound.
At one point I was so high that I found myself cycling through clouds, and it felt so surreal in retrospect, but so amazing that I want to do it again! And I saw locals dressed in long wool coats, looking so kind and peaceful. I can't help wondering what their life is like. Are they happy with everything they have? Do they have the same joys and pains in life as we do? Maybe to get the answers, I need to spend more time with them and know them as real people, rather than random passers-by.
We are doing fine so you just don't worry about us. And I am really excited about the rest of the journey. I'll keep you updated.

I hope this postcard/message finds you well.
It’s three o'clock in the morning, and I'm in the middle of nowhere in this Qinghai plateau. WW is sleeping like a baby in her tent, but I'm wide awake, maybe because I’m exhausted after a whole day’s cycling. So here I am, resting on my back on the grass, with nothing but the stars overhead and the campfire for company.
It's been a long day. It was hard work cycling in and up the mountains, but the beautiful views just made everything worthwhile. The cold mountains, the winding roads, the blue skies, the roaming clouds... held me spellbound.
At one point I was so high that I found myself cycling through clouds, and it felt so surreal in retrospect, but so amazing that I want to do it again! And I saw locals dressed in long wool coats, looking so kind and peaceful. I can't help wondering what their life is like. Are they happy with everything they have? Do they have the same joys and pains in life as we do? Maybe to get the answers, I need to spend more time with them and know them as real people, rather than random passers-by.
