Sue’s roommate Johnsy was very ill.The doctor told Sue that Johnsy needed a strong will to live on.
Johnsy bagan to count the leaves on the ivy vine. She decided that she would die when the last ivy leaf fell.
Johnsy was out of danger because the last leaf didn't fall. Old Behrman died because he painted the last leaf on the icy cold night.
