Ⅱ.阅读理解
A
SUPERMAN
Superman,
the
man
of
steel,
was
probably
the
first
interesting
comic
book
hero.
In
the
“pre-super”
days,
the
silly
heroes
in
comic
strips
and
later
comic
books
always
came
second
to
the
arch-villains.
It
was
the
man
of
steel
who
was
able
to
turn
tables
on
the
arch-villains
and
achieve
true
hero
status.
However,
Superman
was
not
merely
the
first
of
a
long
line
of
comic
heroes.
He
was
also
quite
different
from
those
who
followed.
Clark
Kent,the
other
identity
of
Superman,
did
not
himself
produce
Superman
by
uttering
the
magic
word.
It
was
really
the
other
way
around;
Superman
produced
Clark
Kent
to
disguise
his
superhuman
origin
and
powers.
Superman
actually
came
from
another
planet,
Krypton.
Just
before
Krypton
exploded,a
scientist
named
Jor-El
placed
his
infant
son
in
a
rocket,launching
it
to
the
earth
where
it
landed
safely.
There
he
was
seen
and
rescued
by
an
elderly
couple,
the
Kents.
They
took
the
baby
to
their
home
and
brought
him
up
as
their
son,
Clark.
A
few
years
passed
and
one
day
the
family
doctor
who
was
examining
the
boy
was
amazed
to
notice
his
extra-ordinary
strength:
The
doctor's
advice
was
that
the
family
should
hide
this
fact.
As
a
result,Clark
grew
up
hiding
his
powers.
Instead
of
being
known
as
the
man
of
steel,
he
became
the
nervous
but
handsome
Clark
Kent,
who
was
known
to
faint
in
times
of
crisis.
Batman,
another
of
the
superheroes,
was
actually
the
fictional
identity
of
Bruce
Wayne.
Wayne
was
a
millionaire
who
was
able
to
use
his
wealth
to
acquire
the
power
needed
to
perform
superhuman
feats.
Therefore,
unlike
Batman
and
Bruce
Wayne,
Superman
was
real
and
Clark
Kent
was
the
fictional
identity.
Perhaps
this
is
why
readers
of
the
comic
books
quickly
accepted
this
new
hero
as
he
battled
the
forces
of
evil
and
injustice.
1.The

criticized
by
others
C.

faced
with
difficulties
答案与解析:D 细节判断题。从文章第四段最后一句话可知,在有困难时会昏迷,所以选D。
3.Superman

also
known
as
________.
A.
Bruce
Wayne
B.
Clark
Kent
C.
Krypton
D.
Jor-El
答案与解析:B 推理判断题。从第三段超人的来历可知超人其实就是现实生活中的Clark

4.Superman

his
unusual
strength
________.
A.
on
Krypton
B.
at
the

C.
after
being

D.
after
being
examined
by
a
doctor

B
American
culture
is
unique
because
it
is
formed
and
developed
under
certain
conditions.
The
major
factors
contributing
to
the
making
of
this
new
nation
and
the
forming
of
a
new
culture
are
the
hard
environment,
ethnic
diversity(多民族)
and
plural
religion,which
is
quite
different
from
other
nations
in
the
world.
What
is
more,
these
elements
are
still
influencing
the
American
culture.
The
early
immigrants
who
were
English
Puritans
settled
down
in
northeast
part
of
America.
From
1607
to
1892,
frontiers
were
pushed
further
west.
The
frontiersmen
looked
for
a
land
of
rich
resources
and
a
land
of
promise,
opportunity
and
freedom.
Actually
they
looked
for
a
better
life.
So
individualism(个人主义),
self-reliance
and
equality
of
opportunity
have
perhaps
been
the
values
most
closely
associated
with
the
frontier
heritage(遗产)
of
America.
In
history,
people
from
different
countries
in
the
world
rushed
to
America
three
times.
They
brought
their
own
culture
to
America
and
later
on
different
cultures
were
mixed
together.
Thus
the
unique
American
culture
is
formed,
a
common
cultural
life
with
commonly
shared
values.
The
fundamental
American
belief
in
individual
freedom
and
the
right
of
individuals
to
practice
their
own
religion
is
at
the
center
of
religious
experience
in
the
United
States.
The
great
diversity
of
ethnic
backgrounds
has
produced
religious
pluralism;
almost
all
of
the
religions
of
the
world
are
now
practiced
in
the
United
States.
Nowadays,
we
can
see
the
continual
influence
of
the
three
elements
in
the
current
American
society.
American
family
is
typically
parents
and
their
unmarried
children.
Middle-aged
and
elderly
people
generally
do
not
live
with
their
married
children.
The
people
in
America
have
a
very
strong
desire
to
start
a
new
life
in
a
new
place.
Quite
a
number
of
people
change
residences
every
year.
The
average
American
moves
fourteen
times
in
his
lifetime.
5.American
culture
is
unique
because
of
the
following
factors
except
________.
A.
hard
environment
B.
ethnic
diversity
C.
plural
religion
D.
advanced
modernization
答案与解析:D 细节理解题。用排除法。第一段提到美国独特文化形成的主要因素是“hard
environment,
ethnic
diversity(多民族)
and
plural
religion”,而没有提到advanced
modernization,故选D。
6.We

American
culture
C.
people

the
world

rushed
to
America
because
of
its
unique
culture
D.
the
American
family
members
don't
get
along
well
with

答案与解析:A 细节理解题。由第二段的叙述尤其是最后一句可知,美国的早期移民为美国文化留下了包括“individualism(个人主义),self-reliance
and
equality
of
opportunity”在内的社会价值观(society
values)。故选A。
7.What's
the
author's
attitude
towards
American

of
it.
B.
He
admires
it
very
much.
C.
He
just
states
the
facts.
D.
He
looks
down
upon
it.

8.The
last

________.
A.
the
family

B.
the
influence
of
the

current
American

C.
the
new
life
style
of
American
family
D.

why
American
people
like

答案与解析:B 段意推断题。在该段中,第一句是该段的中心句,全段围绕该句向我们介绍了影响当今美国社会的三大因素。故选B。
9.What

American
Culture
is
Unique
C.
The
Influence
of
American
Culture
D.
Plural
Religion
and
American
Culture
答案与解析:B 主旨大意题。纵观全文可以看出,文章开篇点题,第一句告诉了文章的主题:American
culture
is
unique
because
it
is
formed
and
developed
under
certain
conditions.然后全文围绕这一主题展开论述,向我们讲述美国独特的文化形成的原因。故选B。
Ⅲ.七选五阅读
In
order
to
characterise
a
work
as
fantasy
literature,
I
would
argue,
there
are
six
traits
which
must
be
present
to
some
degree:
story,
common
characters,
another
world,
use
of
magic
and
the
superpower,
a
clear
sense
of
good
and
evil,
and
the
quest.
__1__
The
second
trait
of
fantasy
literature
is
that
the
central
characters
are
of
a
common
nature.
In
the
fantasy
tale
they
might
be
any
one
of
us
and
that
is
precisely
the
point.
We
are
asked
not
to
stand
on
the
outside
and
survey
this
tale.
__2__
Thus
we
find
characters
quite
like
ourselves.
Even
though
we
may
all
like
to
play
Superman,
in
literature
it
seems
that
we
stand
outside
the
larger-than-life
hero.
He
is
well
equipped,
after
all
to
fight
his
own
battles.
__3__
But
with
common
characters
we
recognise
their
shortcomings,
and
want
to
come
to
their
aid.
When
a
character
gets
knocked
down,
which
occurs
frequently,
we
would
like
to
help—from
the
safety
of
our
easy
chair.
Maybe
between
us
we
can
pull
it
off.
__4__
First,
common
characters
have
not
lost
the
childlike
trait
of
wonder,
the
willingness
to
engage
adventure.
Often
the
characters
of
fantasy
are
children,
since
authors
have
found
in
children
a
universal,
common
human
nature—curiosity
to
the
adult
world.
The
second
reason
for
the
use
of
a
common
character
has
to
do
with
heroism.
In
literary
history
the
hero
has
often
been
a
figure
who
acts
for
us.
__5__
The
theme
in
fantasy
literature
is
that
anyone
may
be
called
on
to
become
the
hero.
A.
Moreover,
a
story
must
move
through
a
beginning,
a
middle
and
in
the
process
it
must
move
the
reader.
B.
We
should
enter
it
so
that
the
story
becomes
ours.
C.
He
or
she
stands
in
our
place
in
the
face
of
danger.
D.
In
fact,
we
usually
know
who
will
win;
we're
just
not
certain
how.
E.
Story
seeks
to
free
the
imagination,
to
allow
it
for
a
time
to
live
in
another
world.
F.
There
are
two
other
considerations
that
account
for
the
trait
of
the
common
character.
G.
The
point
of
a
fantasy
is
not
to
hand
us
tidy
morals,
but
to
provide
us
with
growth
by
experience.
答案:1.A 2.B 3.D 4.F 5.C
