1. To let students find the information about Chinese festivals and western ones on books or computer.
2. Prepare some pictures of Christmas. Or make slide to introduce it on computer.
教学流程
Step 1 Warm up
1. Free talk.
2. A game.
Step 2 Presentation
T: Please watch the TV. I’ll show some pictures for you What are they Tell me in English as quickly as you can!
Ss: Christmas tree, Christmas card, presents,
T: Look, who is he He is Santa Clouse; people also call him “Father Christmas”.
T: Do you like Christmas
Ss: Of course
T: I like Christmas, too. It’s a very important festival. Today we are going to learn what people do on Christmas in many countries.
Step 3 New teaching
1. Watch the CD-ROM (Listen to the tape) with several questions

2. Lead students to answer these questions.
3. Listen again and learn the sentence.
Step 4 Practice
a) Make sentences. (Rearrange the sentences)
Teacher prepares some word cards of the text, then give them to the students in different groups.
T: Now make sentences with the word cards I gave you in groups. After 1 minute we’ll check up together.
Students of Group 1 say out the words one by one: about, you tell, can, Christmas, me
Then read out the correct sentence they make: Can you tell me about Christmas
Just like this to practice the sentences:
1) It’s a very important festival in many countries.
2) It’s on the 25th of December
3) People put special trees in their homes.
4) There are lights in the streets and shops.
5) We give presents and send cards.
b) Read the dialogue in different roles.
c) Read. Then find and circle the answers. (AB book Page 16-1)
d) Listen and complete. (Activity Book P17-3)
e) Introduce the customs of Halloween, Easter, Dragon Boat Festival and Lantern Festival……
Step 5 Production(任务完成)
1. Performance.
T: Now let’s perform the customs of the festivals (Christmas, the Spring Festival, Lantern Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Easter,). You can work in groups, some perform, some introduce the customs of the festival you perform.
