Ⅰ.阅读理解
Mars
One,a
group
that
plans
to
send
humans
on
a
one-way
trip
to
Mars,has
announced
its
final
100
candidates.We
spoke
to
two
of
the
British
hopefuls.
Alison
Rigby,35,from
East
London
For
Rigby,a
chemistry
graduate,who
currently
works
as
a
secondary
school
lab
technician,it
is
a
lifelong
passion
for
space
that
led
to
her
decision
to
apply.
“Generally
the
reaction
has
been
pretty
positive
from
my
friends
and
family
since
I
told
them
I
was
down
to
the
final
100,but
it’s
going
to
be
difficult
for
my
mum.I
haven’t
told
her
yet,”she
says.Rigby
explains
that
when
she
first
applied
in
2013,her
mum
told
her
she
didn’t
want
her
to
go.
“I
am
doing
this
for
something
better,which
will
hopefully
benefit
more
people
than
just
staying
at
home
and
keeping
my
mum
happy.As
for
the
risk,of
course
I
am
scared.It’s
something
that
has
never
been
done
before.But
we
are
all
going
to
die,and
it’s
important
what
you
do
before
you
die,”she
says.
Clare
Weedon,27,from
Kent,England
“I
applied
because
I
want
to
be
able
to
say
I
made
a
difference
to
the
future
of
mankind,”explains
Weedon,a
27-year-old
manager.
Weedon
doesn’t
have
a
background
in
science,but
she
is
driven
by
the
chance.Weedon’s
brother
also
applied
but
was
not
selected
for
the
final
100.“My
brother
is
pretty
envious,but
the
rest
of
my
friends
and
family
are
proud
and
excited.”The
only
exception
is
Weedon’s
boyfriend,who
doesn’t
want
her
to
go.
Weedon
thinks
it
was
her
teamworking
skills
that
saw
her
through
this
far—in
her
current
job
she
works
as
part
of
a
group
of
four,the
same
size
as
the
planned
Mars
One
crew.But
she’s
not
pretending
a
trip
to
Mars
is
going
to
be
a
walk
in
the
park.“When
I
think
about
it
seriously,I
am
shocked,”she
says,“but
that
doesn’t
put
me
off.It
drives
me
forward.”
【语篇导读】本文是记叙文。文章是火星移民项目最后100名候选人中的两名英国人的情况介绍。
1.Rigby

give
up
the

didn’t
want
her

we
infer
about

Mars
at
all.

better,which

do
before

because
of

A.her
work
experience
B.her
passion
for
space
C.her
boyfriend’s

her
current
job
she
works
as

a
group
of
four,the
same
size
as
the
planned
Mars
One

Ⅱ.完形填空
(2014·合肥第一次质检)
All
of
us
go
through
some
difficult
times
as
we
approach
teenage
years.It’s
the
age
when
we
have
to
deal
with
the
most
 1
in
our
life.This
transition(过渡)from
childhood
to
adulthood
is
 2
for
some,but
rough
for
others.The
most
important
thing
about
being
a
teenager
is
 3 .When
we
are
teenagers,we
would
get
blamed
or
even
punished
for
anything
wrong
we
do.
It’s
all
not
so 4
about
being
a
teenager
though.We
don’t
have
to
have
our
 5
take
us
to
somewhere
we
want
to
go
or
we
couldn’t
go
before.We
can
have
 6
with
friends
or
even
alone,which
we
couldn’t
have
because
we
were
too
 7
to
know
what
pleasure
is!It’s
a
very
enjoyable
time
of
life.During
this
age,we
are
old
enough
to
 8
what
is
good
for
us,and
make
decisions
without
 9
others.
But
like
the
saying
goes,“All
good
things
must
come
to
an
end,but
all
bad
things
can
continue
 10 .”During
this
period,we
are
having
much
 11
for
our
studies.If
we
don’t
pass,we
won’t
get
jobs,and
things
will
take
a
turn
for
the
 12 .With
the
present
world
economy
in
 13 ,we
have
to
do
really,really
well
in
our
 14
for
a
job.Adults
say
that
their
 15
is
the
hardest
part
of
life.But
I
think
the
transition
from
a
kid
to
an
adult
is
much
 16
than
being
already
an
adult.What
we
do
in
our
teenage
years
will
 17
what
we
become
and
how
we
lead
our
life
in
the
future.
In
conclusion,it
is
quite
 18
that
parents
put
much
pressure
on
an
already
stressed-out
teenager.If
they
realized
that,living
condition
for
teenagers
would
be
much
better. 19
for
the
teens
ourselves
we
should
get
to
know
what
is
best
for
us.What’s
more,we
should
understand
the
right
 20
of
life
we
choose
at
this
age
can
make
us
happy
for
the
rest
of
our
existence.

答案与解析:
【语篇导读】本文通过大象被绳子拴住却不挣脱的现象告诉我们:不要故步自封,不要因为担心失败而放弃拼搏。
1.tied 解析:考查非谓语动词。大象仅由一根系在前腿的小绳拴住。rope和tie之间是动宾关系,故此处用过去分词表被动。
2.It 解析:考查代词。本句句意:显而易见,大象在任何时候都能够挣脱绳子。分析句子成分可知,It在句中作形式主语,that引导的从句是真正的主语。
3.away 解析:考查动词短语。break
away
from...“从……突然挣脱,从……逃脱”。
4.to
get 解析:考查非谓语动词。句意:他看见附近有位驯兽师,就问为什么这些动物只是站在那里而不试图逃跑呢 make
attempt
to
do
sth“试图做某事”。
5.the 解析:考查冠词。本句句意:“好吧,”这位驯兽师说,“当它们还年幼、(体型)尚较小时,我们使用同样大小的绳子拴住它们……”此处用定冠词the表示特指。
6.smaller 解析:考查形容词比较级。much修饰形容词比较级。
7.can 解析:考查情态动词。本句句意:当它们长大时,它们就习惯性地认为绳子依然能够拴住它们,所以它们从没尝试逃跑。此处用情态动词can表示一般的能力。
8.because 解析:考查原因状语从句。本句句意:这些动物在任何时候都能够挣脱绳子,但是因为它们认为不能,所以它们就待在原处。
9.hanging 解析:考查非谓语动词。此处应用动词-ing形式作伴随状语。
10.simply 解析:考查副词。本句句意:……仅仅是因为我们曾经失败过吗 此处应用副词作状语。
