Unit Four Review 1
(The second period)
Teaching objectives:
1. Master the new words of each Unit
2. Master the function of each Unit.
3. some and any
4. How to use the function
Teaching difficult points:
The sounds of [ oi ]. [∧]
Teaching aids:
Tape recorder, picture cards regalia
Teaching procedures:
1. Warm up:
(1)Free talk with the class.
(2)Sing a song: What do you want to do
2.Revision:
(1)Review the vocabulary in each unit (using the pictures)
(2)Review the sentences (using the pictures or regalia
3. Presentation
(Step 1)
(1)Ask individual Ss to read the words on the page aloud for the class.
(2)Play the tape for A, and then pause the tape.
(3) T: I want to be a …. (gesture for Ss to answer) [Ss: farmer]
(4) T: See the circle around the correct answer Now listen and circle the answers.
(5)Continue with the rest of the questions.
(Step 2)
Point to the pictures at random.
Ask a question that corresponds with the picture.
T: (Point to the teacher.) What does she do [ She’s a teacher.]
T: ( Point to the glue .) What do I have [Ss: You have some glue.]
Have Ss look at the pictures.
Play the tape for A, and then pause.
T: What does he do [Ss: He’s a factory worker.]
Put a checkmark in the box for the correct picture.
Repeat the procedures with the other five questions.
( Step3 )
① Put Picture Cards of cousin, father, uncle, and aunt on the board, picture-side up.
② Ask individual Ss to write the correct word underneath each picture, and then have the whole class say the word.
③ Have Ss look at the picture and the paragraphs on the page.
④ Read the paragraph in Part A slowly and clearly.
⑤ Ask individual Ss to read the questions out aloud.
⑥ Give Ss time to write the answers on the page.
⑦ Do the same for Part B.
⑧ Walk around the classroom to check how Ss are doing. Find some Ss who are writing the correct answers.
⑨ Ask those Ss to come to the board.
⑩ Have them write the answers on the board so that other Ss can check their work.
(Step 4)
a) Ask individual Ss to read out the words out loud.
b) Point to the word toys.
c) T: [ ] , [ ] Toys. Let’s play the tape and find the sound[ ]
d) Play the tape.
e) T: See the circles around the other words with the sound [ ]
f) T: Listen and circle.
g) Play the tape for B and C
10. Practicing
① Work Book Page 13 Part ① and ②
11. Summary
Sum up what we have reviewed today.
12. Homework
① Write out the words without look at the book on their exercise book.
② Hang up a piece of paper about the words and targets.
