English new course standard emphasizes to develop students’ communication ability. My class is based on the Task-based Language Teaching. It’s important for us teachers to set a party situation here and give all kinds of tasks in this lesson. Students learn the language through communication, through activities, through co-operation.

The students in Junior 2 have learnt some food before. But they can’t keep their minds long focusing on one thing. So in class we often do guessing games, oral practice, including imitation, competition, reading the chant and so on. They can learn English through all kinds of activities.
Ⅲ. The methods of teaching and learning
The aim of learning English is let the students receive some moral education while they are learning. Students in my class will learn how to make a banana milk shake. The most important is that we can get a harmonious atmosphere in this class. It can stimulate their learning interest.
On the other hand, I persist in the communicative teaching method and create many interesting games in order to attract students’ attention, set them in a real English environment. They are able to know more about the food culture in western countries.

At the beginning of my class, I set a party situation here. We are going to have a party this weekend.
1. Put the food in the correct basket
This is a warming-up exercise. Before the party, we should prepare some food. So, we go shopping in the supermarket. However, students are required to put things in the correct basket. In this part, students can easily master the difference between the countable nouns and uncountable nouns. All the new words are included here.
2. Challenge the memory
This is another group work. The students must remember what the ingredients of making fruit salad are. They must focus their minds. Because Mr. cook only shows us the recipe for 5 seconds. This can help students learn to co-operate with each other. Also, they are able to know how to describe the amount.
4. Watch the video and role play
As everyone knows, all the students want to be the actors. So it’s a good way to practice their listening skills and speaking skills. The video can arouse their curiosity.
5. Recipe game
It’s time for us to make the banana milk shake. However, something in the recipe has been lost. We have to help Mr. Cook to complete the chart. This activity can develop their computer skills.
6. Chant with the actions
The chant can make students master the target Language easily. Also it’s a summary.
Sweet tips:
In the end, teacher needs to develop students’ emotion as well as abilities. As we know, in modern society most of the children live an excellent life, but very few know where the life comes from. This part can let them understand how the parents work hard for the children.
7. The open homework
When they come back home, they need to make a strawberry milk shake for their parents and write down the steps. As everyone knows, the writing skill is very important. So according to the homework, we can not only practice our social skills, but also practice our writing skills.
