Unit 6 When can we go ice-skating
(The first period)

Step 1 Revision
1. Show the cards of season to revise.
2. Revise the sentences: When is winter
Is cold in winter
What’s the weather like in winter
Step 2 Presentation
1. Teaching the new words.
2. Have students repeat the words after teacher.
Using the book
1. Have Ss look at the page. T: Let’s listen to the tape and read the story.
2. Play the tape and have Ss look at the picture and dialog in their books. T: Let’s listen again repeat.
3. Play the tape, pausing after each sentence to have Ss repeat. Put Ss into small groups and have them practice acting out the dialog.
Getting ready
1. Put picture cards 33-38 word-side up on the board. T: Repeat after me. January. [Ss: January.] February. [Ss: February.]
2.Continue with the other words.
3.Put picture cards before and after on the board ( word-side up ), under Mach and April.
4.T: (Point to picture cards March and April.) March is before April. April is after March.
5. Students make sentences after teacher makes models.
6.教师提问:I s April after March 引导学生回答。
7.通过问答形式练习“Is …after … ”
8.以同样的方法学习“Is … before …”
Using the book
1. T: Open your books. Listen and repeat. Point to each picture as you say it.
2. Play the tape and have Ss repeat each word...
Step 3 Practice
1. Free talk:
T: (point to picture cards of January and February) When’s winter holiday [Ss: It’s in January and February.]T: (Point to Picture cards of March, April, May and June.) When’s (spring term) [S1: It’s in March, April, May and June.]
T: Is May after June [Ss: No, May is before June.]
2. Have Ss look at the picture on the page. Ask individual Ss to read out the sentences.
3. T: Now listen and repeat.
4. Play the tape a few times, pausing after each sentence for Ss to repeat.
5. Have Ss work in pairs and encourage them to practice the dialogs with other months covered in Vocabulary section.
Step 4 Summary
Today we learn the new sentences: When’s winter holiday Is January after February And learn the new words of the months and before, after.
Step 5 Homework
1. Copy the new words of the Vocabulary and the sentences of the Target.
2. Recite the dialogs.
Step 6 Blackboard writing:
When can we go ice-skating

A: When’s winter holiday
B: It’s in January and February.
A: Is January after February
B: No, January is before February.
